I have been in Salida for 20+ years. We love this area of Colorado and can't imagine living anywhere else. I am the owner of INTEGRATE mind•body•fitness; a Spa / Wellness Center / CrossFit Functional Training gym in downtown Salida. We know and love the mountains and rivers around Salida as we've been rafting, hiking, biking and skiing them for a long time. Let us know if we can answer any questions about the area!
Ann Casey purchased this house in 2011
We loved that the house was in town and had big unobstructive views. We also love that the back yard borders open space...It feels so open and quiet!
Stars at night...not disrupted by city lights...Benefits of camping without the tent!
This property is nothing short of perfect for a lovely weekend in Salida, CO. With an amazing view from the backyard, plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms, and close proximity to town, it is ideal for a weekend of activities and relaxing in Salida. The owner was very easy to work with and extremely responsive to any questions or needs that we had. We would absolutely stay again!
We had a great time at this home. Accommodations with 4 young kids are often confining, however they had a great time here. There is a small creek in the back yard that kept the kids occupied for hours. Deer and fawn ran up and down the creek path all day long. When the kids weren't in the back they were riding bikes in the quite cul de sac out front. We watched fireworks from the huge, well manicured field a short walk from the back yard. The house was very comfortable as well. I highly recommend this home.
We had 9 people staying at this home. It is a lovely home. The week we were there was really hot though and without air conditioning during the day, it was stifling. We loved seeing the mule deer each morning as they passed by our fence. There was a tiny fawn with one of them. Two of the windows had no screens, so it was hard to leave them open during the day without letting bugs in. This house would benefit from more ceiling fans - at least one in the kitchen. We enjoyed our trip immensely. My aunt and uncle's house has the same problem - no air conditioning! For Texas people, it is hard, since we are used to air conditioning. The house was well equipped. However, your washing machine does not spin all the water out so the dryer is having to take twice as long to dry towels especially. Thanks for the hospitality! Gorgeous mountain view!
We are a group of three friends and our five daughters ages 9-13 and this is our third year leaving the guys at home and heading to Salida. We arrived at our home in early afternoon and were greeted by a family of deer across the street that remained until evening. It was a lovely sight and our five girls were thrilled (as were the moms)! Once inside the home we were delighted when we looked out the kitchen window and were welcomed by the view - it truly was the view of Angels - just heavenly! As for the house, it was perfect for our vacation. The kitchen was bright, clean, colorful, large and well supplied with all our kitchen needs which is great for a group our size. We had breakfast there each morning and prepared picnic lunches or ate at the home and there were plenty of dishes. The bedrooms were clean, comfortable, warm and three of the four had TVs, although I don't think the girls ever turned them on at night - they were too tired from all their fun. As the house was on a cul-de-sac the girls also went outside a few times just to play and we were so happy to let them. In addition, the home is very close to a trail that leads directly to town and all 8 of us walked it at least once and some of the group four or five times. We truly felt that we were home and wanted for nothing. The owner was easy to work with and very friendly. Also, very gracious. Four days after we got home my one friend realized that two of the home's towels had inadvertently been packed in her bag, by our other friend. I called the owner to let her know that they'd be sent back and she was very kind and said that was fine. (They will arrive soon - I've been assured of that)! Overall, a great visit and time. The home is clean, cozy, close to town, quiet and just has the most beautiful views - and I (we) highly recommend this lovely home!
My friends and I stayed there this summer for a rafting trip over July 4th weekend. This is my third time in Salida for July 4th, and this was the best rental experience by far! It was the PERFECT place to stay. It's a great location on a cul-de-sac. The home is super clean and spacious. Good cooking utensils and dishes are plentiful as are towels and linens. Arrangements were simple and flexible. You'll need a car to get groceries. But otherwise, biking is preferable over walking IMHO.
My favorite part that always makes the trips special are the deer. A doe and her two fawns had their morning walks right by the breakfast nook. I just love that. Two fawns still had their spots and were playful every morning. That with the gorgeous mountain views. It's the best relaxing break from the city.
I highly recommend this property! They book quickly so I'm getting mine name in there soon :).
My family and I had a wonderful time on our stay in Salida, and the property on Angelview. It was a perfect situation, loved the quiet neighborhood, and provided everything we needed. We will definitely make these arrangements again if able to return to the Salida area.
Adjacent to bike path so you can take off from house to explore the area's trail system.
