About Clark Kreuter
Our parents purchased the house when we were kids. Every summer from the end of school till Labor Day, we played, swam and boated here. Improvements were made to the property through the years. Property is still used for our families to gather in the summer.
Clark Kreuter purchased this House in 1960
Why Clark Kreuter chose Naples
Canandaigua Lake (now known as 'The Chosen Spot') is a beautiful, 16 mile long, Finger Lake located within an hour drive of Rochester, NY. At this portion of the lake, it's 1.5 miles wide, with a view of Vine Valley framed by Bare and South HIlls. Boat traffic is not as heavy, except on weekends, as at the north end. Water sports and activities have been our focus. Neighborhood, originally was grape vineyards, now its vacation homes. Scenic, upscale dining, Gourmet, local, seasonal foods restaurants as well as burger pubs are within an easy drive. Water Park, shopping and boutiques are nearby. Several wine trails are within an easy drive too.
What makes this House unique
Boating, Sailing, Water skiing, Wake boarding, Swimming. The beach and dock are our gathering spot for activities with family and friends! Seneca Point Road is level near the house and makes for gentle exercise walking, but the surrounding hills are great for the more enthusiastic walker and bike riders. Seneca Point Creek, although privately owned, is a great creek walk to the first set of waterfalls. Nearest grocery 15 miles away. Nearest gas, deli, quick mart in Cheshire 5 miles away.

Anchor Beach Canandaigua Lake NY
Having a reunion with 5 teenagers grandchildren and children was the ideal vacation home. On one rainy day it kept the family indoor where we played games and reminisced. Otherwise plenty to do outdoor. The cottage was very clean, well kept and well supplied. We would highly recommend. Traffic on road and lake was minimal Owner welcomed us and went over the details with us
We stayed here with 5 kids and 4 adults and it was perfect. The home and waterfront is impeccably maintained, and there are games and DVDs to keep kids busy on a rainy day. Includes all the comforts of home with a beautiful view. Owner is easy to work with. This is a great place for a family or a group of friends.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed our home, it truly is a beautiful place to spend with family and friends. It was great to have you and your family 2 years in a row.
This was a great place for a bachelorette weekend. Close to wineries, CMAC, and the town of Canandaigua and lots to do at the house. We did a wine tour, went to a concert and rented a boat at the marina to do watersports. At the house we used the hot tub, had a fire, swam out to the floating dock and even played tetherball. The kitchen down by the water was great for having dinner right by the lake, but there was also a huge deck and lots of tables and chairs to all fit if we wanted to eat close to the house as well.
Glad you enjoyed your stay at Anchor Beach. Canangaigua Lake is a beautiful place! Thank you.
Great family vacation spot
We used the property to gather family members from across the country in one place that offered many recreation opportunities for all ages. Beach is great for swimming and watersports. Lots of dock space for boats. Lots of lawn for games, sunning and socializing. House is spacious with many amenities. Family members could gather as they wanted: around the pool table or in the hot tub, on the huge deck with a grand view of the lake and hills. The mini kitchen on the beach made it convenient to have lunch where the action was and kept the wet feet and suits out of the house.
The wine trails kept a few of the adults busy one day. There were lots of great restaurants in the area, but the kitchen was well equipped when we just wanted to relax. I look forward to returning next year with the grandchildren.
Beautiful Home and Spectacular Waterfront on Canandaigua Lake
The listing was certainly to our liking, but we think the place was even better. As advertised, the home is located at probably the most beautiful stretch of water on this gem of the Finger Lakes. It is not one of the newer homes in that area, but we liked its comfortable charm, and it has been maintained by the owner in mint condition, the grounds are lovely, and the whole place was immaculate when we arrived. The owner responded in friendly fashion to every question we had ahead of time and came over in person when we thought we had an issue with the internet the first day there. There were 10 of us from grandparents in their 80's to youngest grandson, age 4 - and four teenagers plus their parents. Everyone loved the place, and were busy from early morning in the water to supper on the deck to guitars, singing, and s'mores around the fire pit in the evening. There was so much to do there that we did not go out to any of the nearby attractions, but there are plenty of them in the immediate area, and the owners provide an up-to-date notebook on the coffee table with all the information you would need if you want a change of scene. We cannot recommend this rental highly enough. Our family is already begging us to do this again.
Thank you so much. Glad you and your family enjoyed your stay at Anchor Beach. We will look forward to having you again. Thanks
We had a great time during our recent stay at Anchor Beach. It is an older home, but meticulously maintained, and very comfortable for our family and guests. The lakefront area is very nice- beautiful dock, potted flowers, and also natural lake frontage for kayaking, windsurfing, wading in. Owners include a kayak and paddleboat with rental. Pavilion building at lakefront was very convenient- has a refrigerator and microwave so we could leave lunch fixings down there and didn't have to lug them from house each day. The view across the lake and the views on the lake looking south were amazing. Nice hot tub overlooks the lake from a private patio area, and decking on front of house is very large with lots of seating and a gas grill. Owners were very nice and accommodating.
We had total of 9 extended family members including teens with us and were comfortable, but 3 of the twin beds are in a walkout basement, and there are 2 little twin beds in an alcove off of a queen bedroom that we didn't use, but would be most appropriate for younger children.
Best restaurant meals of the week were at Rio Tomatlan and Eric's Office, both in Canandaigua. Some of our party went hiking in a gorge down the street and near Naples. Some kayaked the West River near Naples. 350 year old oak tree up the hill from the property with a great view. Would definitely recommend this property.
Canandaigua Wine trail, Keuka and Seneca Lake Wine Trails within an easy drive. Roseland Waterpark and Bristol Mountain Ski Resort nearby. Many restaurants from casual to upscale in the area.
