About Andy Shulman
A Flight Attendant with a major Airline for over 40 years, Andy loves to travel but always loves to 'come home to Maine'... how could it be otherwise as he was 2 months old when he spent his first summer there. An avid boater, make sure to ask him to take you over to the island to see the Eagles nest or to go out on an early evening shoreline cruise on his beloved 24' deck boat. As a Flight Attendant, Andy is keenly aware of people's needs and has taken his role of 'host' at the property in Maine seriously. His desire is to ensure everyone has the best time possible. Andy's motto, stolen from Margaret Merriweather Post, is: 'If you don't Look for it and if you don't ask for it, You're, more than likely not going to get it'. Andy asks his guests they NEVER begin a request or question with: 'I hate to bother you...' - he's there to BE bothered as he wants to ensure everyone has a great time.
Andy Shulman purchased this Cabin in 1949
Why Andy Shulman chose Thompson's Point
Andy's Dad, Phil (or better known as 'Uncle Phil to everyone on the lake) purchased the property in 1948, beginning to build the first cottage in 1949. The property has remained in the Shulman family with 4 generations of Shulmans creating magnificent memories over the years.
What makes this Cabin unique
Sebago Lake is world famous for its purity and is the drinking water supply for the city of Portland. The lake is as deep as 300' in the middle with wonderful sandy beaches. While the property is not directly on the lake, the large shared beach, raft and dock is, literally seconds away down a path from the house. the beach is a 'shared beach' with neighbors but, with 30' of beach virtually unused by others, the space is large enough to ensure everyone has lots of 'personal space'. A dock (for pick up and drop off) is available as well as a raft, weekly mooring rental can be made available as well. For hikers, the property abutts the Sebago Lake State Park with great, well marked hiking trails. Great eateries and shopping are nearby.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
What a beautiful cabin and on a beautiful lake.
Thank you ANDY & CHRISTOPHER for a great cabin and a fun time.
My whole family loved your Naples paradise.
Can’t wait to come back next summer.
Great time by the lake. Andy was an awesome host! House has eveything we were looking for! We will be back for sure!
A little piece of heaven on Sebago Lake!
This was our third trip to Sylph Lodge...and let me tell you, it never disappoints! Our family loves coming to the lake to recharge and reconnect--and to get away from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. Our kids talk about going to the lake all year, and it has become the highlight of our summers. The hosts are just wonderful--they go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcome. We love the little touches that make us feel at home like the s'mores bucket and blueberry muffins! Definitely looking forward to our next visit.
We are repeat customers, love staying at Sylph Lodge. The cabin is spacious, tastefully decorated and Andy is super accommodating. I would highly recommend staying here if you can.
Thanks so much for your review. We LOVE you and your family!! See you same time - same place next season!!
Authentic Maine Cottage
We had everything we could possibly need thanks to our host, Andy. Comfortable beds (we got the linen package) and linens, towels, even pool noodles (for the lake) were there for us. Not many hosts provide blueberry muffins and the ingredients for s'mores. It was a vacation to remember.
This is an authentic Maine cottage with an unobstructed view of Sebago Lake.
The owner goes out of his way to please his guests, he even makes blueberry muffins for you and leaves them on the kitchen table with a nice card to welcome you. He left a bucket of s'more ingredients which prompted us to have a fire one night.
Thanks for your kind words. We have made every effort to insure Sylph Lodge retains its authentic and true Maine Lake cabin feeling without sacrificing any creature comforts.
Our Blueberry Muffins are a Sylph Lodge tradition - always made with local native blueberries we personally hand pick... and - what better way to enjoy family than sitting around the outdoor fireplace making smorrs’?
We’re so glad you enjoyed your two weeks with us!
