The cabin boasts a beautiful view of the mountains, a stream, and numerous wildlife from our deck. Frequent 4-legged visitors include bear, deer, moose, bison, fox and wolves. There are many opportunities for hiking, fishing, and photography excursions. Horseback trips and rafting can also be arranged with local guides.

About Terri or Gary Vincelette
Gary and Arlene, brother & sister, with their spouses, Terri and Bruce, co-own our mountain home. Our grand parents Vincelette were some of the first settlers founding Silver Gate in the 1930's. Now the 4th and 5th generations are returning to Silver Gate and the mountains, streams, and lakes. We grew up learning to love and respect the mountain wilderness, wild life, and Yellowstone National Park.
Terri or Gary Vincelette purchased this House in 1974
Why Terri or Gary Vincelette chose Silver Gate
We want you to come and enjoy what we have vacationed in for generations - the majestic views, many facets of Yellowstone National Park, hiking, back packing, fly fishing, mountain streams, alpine lakes, waterfalls, Bear Tooth Scenic Highway, wilderness wildlife, smell of pines, a good book on our deck on the Soda Butte, or just sitting together and gazing on the beauty of Creation! From here you can launch directly into Yellowstone within moments, or the high alpine vistas, lakes, and streams of the Rocky Mountains, or just be still, listen, and look.
What makes this House unique
The most unique thing about our home is the immediate proximity to all that Yellowstone National Park offers. The other direction, however leads you over one of America's most scenic highways-the Beartooth Highway (212). You are comfortably nested in the Rocky Mountains of Montana off the front deck, Wyoming outback and their pristine beauty and wildlife. The best thing about our home in the mountains is the renewal that nature and beauty bring!

The Amphitheater Cabin is being fully renovated this winter (2017): new flooring throughout the entire cabin, completely renovated bathroom with tiled floor and shower, new heating system, new sofa bed, (new living room furniture), new Bosch washer & dryer units, large newer refrigerator-freezer, and gas burning stove/oven. The cabin should be a very comfortable oasis set on a stream in the midst of the Rocky Mountains, one mile from the Northeast Entrance of Yellowstone National Park, and on one of America's most scenic highways, the Beartooth Highway (Hwy. 212).
Close to Yellowstone, but not a great cabin
I've been staying in and around Yellowstone every summer for about 20 years. Just guys fishing, so not too needy, but this was one of the worst cabins we've rented. Started off bad. No key available to get in at check in time. Some local folks helped us get in through a bedroom window. Wood burning stove that you are not allowed to use. Propane wall heater does not work. Every time you close the refrigerator door, the freezer door pops open. Cabin is in need of some major updates. Pull out couch has a very uncomfortable 3 inch foam pad that the frame comes through. Deck is rotting. VHS player with a bunch of old 80's movies. It is on Soda Butte Creek, but no fish in this area due to dogs and kids using it for swimming. Also, very close to Hotel right next door. It is very close to Yellowstone, so that was nice. Owners were good to talk to, but didn't really make it any better.
Get ready to be impressed!
We had our two adults sons (shared the second bedroom) and me and my husband. We enjoyed privacy, a great deck and full campfire area with lots of wood provided. The cabin is well supplied and clean.
We were celebrating a family reunion and hosted two campfire evenings at our cabin. Everyone was envious. Lots of privacy and weather permitting, our cabin allowed all of us to spread out and enjoy ourselves.
We didn't fish but wish we would have. The cabin is right on the edge of Soda Butte Creek just like the ad states.
Be sure to rent ATVs from the Bear Claw Bakery in Cooke City and drive all the off road trails including the Bannock Trail (just behind our cabin) and Daisy Pass trail will lead you to high mountain lakes.
Lots of "smoring" going on at the campfire and we cooked over the fire every night.
Don't forget the bug spray.
We are already planning our next vacation at this cabin.
Newton Family Vacation
We so enjoyed the cabin! Our three children loved the bunk beds and we had a wonderful time fishing in the river outside the cabin. The cabin has everything you will need for your vacation. The washer/dryers was great for a family!! We even had a bear visitor on the porch one night. Got great video from inside! Thank you again!
One could not have asked for more. The house was great, clean and cozy. The stream and setting was perfect!!!!
We enjoyed the cabin very much. It was great being next to a creek and so close to Yellowstone. We were pleased that it was a fully furnished kitchen and very comfortable. The photos and descriptions were accurate. I would recommend this to a friend.
Four-wheelers allowed only in posted areas.
