The Diamond Bar is a spacious, rustic mountain cabin that sleeps up to 6, and is the perfect spot for a family vacation. It has a master bedroom (queen) upstairs with full bath, a downstairs bedroom for the kids with a double bed, bunk beds, and a half bath. There is a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, and a large living room with a stone wood burning fireplace. Two blocks from the center of town, the Diamond Bar sits on a large corner lot with a private drive and covered parking. It has a patio terrace in the rear, and gorgeous mountain views. Sit on the deck or terrace and watch the deer wander through the yard on a regular basis. At night, snuggle in the cool mountain air and sleep to the sound of a mountain stream nearby. About Shawn Meyers

Robin and Shawn Meyers live in Oklahoma City. Dr. Meyers is a minister, professor and author. His wife Shawn is an artist and a member of the art faculty at the University of Central Oklahoma. Robin and Shawn honeymooned in Green Mountain Falls in 1976, and have vacationed here with their children for 36 years. The Diamond Bar was originally purchased by Shawn's grandmother in the 1940's. They have come to love this place as one of the most peaceful and restorative places on earth. Now they invite you to bring your family and discover what make this such a special place.

Shawn Meyers purchased this cabin in 1948

Why Shawn Meyers chose Green Mountain Falls

Green Mountain Falls is the town that time forgot. It has a Norman Rockwell quality to it. There are plenty of things to do, but the best thing might be to do nothing at all. Fish, hike, read a book, listen to a mountain stream and the sudden crackle of an afternoon thunderstorm. Life in GMF is beautifully slow. This is as peaceful as it gets.

What makes this cabin unique

Green Mountain Falls is becoming an arts community, and every summer hosts the Green Box Arts Festival. There are visiting artists, workshops, a major installation by a well-known artist, cooking classes, and special events for children. Hikers are discovering GMF as a place with dozens of marked and maintained trails, and the fishing is always good in the lake with its signature Victorian gazebo. Summer concerts, weddings, antique car shows, and other activities are numerous, and the Pantry is world famous for breakfast! Green Mountain Falls is uniquely situated to enjoy peace and quiet, but located only ten minutes from Woodland Park, and only 25 minutes from Colorado Springs. The Pike's Peak Region, with all its attractions, is at your door.

Notes:
The Diamond Bar is a 'screen free' mountain cabin nestled in one of America's most charming towns. It has all the important amenities, but there is no television set, entertainment center, or video game console. This is not an oversight, but a deliberate choice on the part of the owners. When people come to the mountains for vacation and they don't watch TV, they do other, more enjoyable things as a family. They read books, play board game (provided), cook meals together, fish, hike the local trails, even talk to one another! There are a million fun things to do in the Pike's Peak region, but if you stay at the Diamond Bar, watching television in the cabin won't be one of them. Of course, if there is a big game, you can always catch it at the local bar, where they have a big screen, and serve great pizza and wings!

Charming cabin with lots of places to sit outside and view the scenery and see wildlife.

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful cabin in the mountains. We enjoyed sitting outside on the front porch, back deck, and screened-in porch. We loved hearing the nearby waterfall each morning and evening. The cabin is very quaint and well stocked with everything for our stay. We saw lots of wildlife including deer, fox, hummingbirds and a bear. The beds were super comfortable as well.

This is a great place for the two of us but also a family. We hope to come back soon!

Beautiful location!

  • 5 of 5

Travelled with 2 teenagers and mom. Couldn't find better place to stay in Colorado ! Would not ever consider staying at a hotel or motel after staying at Diamonds Bar!

Peacfull, close to hiking trails, in a secluded area surrounded by trees and wildlife. Saw deers that came through the property, humming birds coming every couple minutes to the feeder, foxes , and of course a bear hat wanted to feed unsuccessfully from garbage can.

Very nice owners, very clean cottage!

Would highly recommend!!!

Absolutely loved this cabin!!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing stay at the Diamond Bar. It was a step back into time when things were simpler. The cabin had so many original items and was spacious enough for us. We spent some quality family time together cooking, eating, playing games, laughing, and enjoying the surrounding area. We were fortunate enough to be shown the fairy pond just down the street. Shawn and her family are great too and made the visit even better. We hope to come back in the future.

Charming Cabin in A Beautiful Setting

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin is very charming and was quite comfortable for our family of four. It is in a central location that makes for an easy walk to the pond and The Pantry. Our only complaint is that we didn't stay longer. 😊 If you are looking for comfortable accommodations in a great location in a beautiful setting, this is your place. We hope to visit again in the future.

Rustic Beauty

  • 5 of 5

The Diamond Bar cabin is located in a peaceful and beautiful setting; conveniently close to the major attractions in the Colorado Springs area. The cabin has a rustic charm while providing all the necessities one would need for a truly relaxing stay. Seeing deer so close to the cabin in the mornings and evenings was an added bonus. Would we stay there again - you bet!

Map

Green Mountain Falls has all the charm of a small town, but is 20 minutes from Colorado Springs and 10 minutes from Woodland Park, with fine dining, and a great Dinosaur Museum. This is the perfect spot for a family vacation.
