We loved this house and our host, Beth, was more than accommodating. The house itself is great. Very well appointed. We had 11 people for Christmas dinner. No problem cooking the turkey, making all the food. The views from the windows were lovely.
While we were there, the area experienced a deep freeze (-25C) and tons of snow. We became friends with Beth's snow removal contractor, who went out of his way to help us as well. The house was more than able to keep up with the cold. I love the mud rooms entering the house. It lessens the effects of open doors and frigid temps.
Our only issue was with the road itself. We had a rear-wheel diesel Sprinter with no snow tires. The house is on a steep hill and despite sand bags and e adults to weigh it down, we ended up having to get towed up the hill and then made arrangements with some very friendly people to park it at the top of the hill for the duration of our stay.
Some of us got ill during our visit and the Sprinter battery died when the diesel just about froze. So we ended up leaving stuff behind by accident. Beth's husband found it all and are shipping it to us. What generosity. Such lovely people.
The house is located in a quiet estate residential neighbourhood in Midland Point.
