The Taylor Cabin at Salida Cabin Rentals is a comfortable one bedroom cabin on the shore of a spectacular private high mountain lake. Our beautiful hide-away that has been our family's most favorite place in the world, will now be shared. A sacred and intimate place which has been a very private world, can now be enjoyed by YOU!

Our 6 acre Lake, nestled in a mountain meadow at 9200 feet, sits right off the Colorado Trail in the heart of 'Fourteener Country' (The Salida area in Chaffee County boast more fourteen thousand foot peaks than anywhere in Colorado). Hike, snowshoe, cross country ski, fish, or ride an ATV right from your cabin door.

The Taylor cabin can sleep 5 adults. There is a king size bed in the bedroom, and a queen size sleeper sofa with a deluxe memory foam mattress in the living room, additional cots are available. The cabin has a fully furnished kitchen with a full size refrigerator, stove and oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, as well as a gas grill for outdoor grilling.

The lake offers excellent trout fishing with no Colorado fishing license required. Catch and release is preferred while sport fishing. Please use lures and flies only. This helps ensure that the fish are released safely. Feel free though to keep one or two for that fresh trout dinner

A piece of Heaven!!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have returned for the second time! Absolutely perfect once again! We can't say enough about how gorgeous the property is and how wonderful the cabins are! We are planning our third trip there and can't wait to go back! It truly feels like home away from home! The owners keep the cabins immaculate and are there always if you need anything! Great people! Great times!

This was our first time in Colorado and could not of been a better experience. When we got to the ranch we were in awe. The cabin is beautiful and has everthing you could need. I have never stayed in such a clean vacation spot. The view from our cabin was amazing. My husband did a lot of fishing. we rented atv's for the day and headed into the mountains, What a truly amazing sight! We had a bonfire one night , so relaxing.

We had some great meals out in the town of Salida. The people in Salida are very friendly.

The owners have made this vacation spot amazing and we will definetly return to the Taylor cabin!

The perfect vacation!!!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at Taylor Cabin and absolutely did not want to leave. We were there for a weekend, and only left to go buy fishing supplies and a few groceries. The spectacular scenery and peacefulness of the property consumed us!!! We stayed down at the lake the entire visit....the fishing is great!!!! The cabin was beautiful, and had every amenity to make it feel just like home. The owner was wonderful. We will definitely be back. It was the best vacation my husband and I have been on.

Great Place to Stay -- Definitely Coming Back

  • 5 of 5

I do a lot of hiking and climbing all over Colorado and I stumbled upon this gem during my most recent visit with my family. On VRBO, usually the pictures make the house/land seem better than they are. In this case though, I was absolutely stunned when I arrived. The cabin was brand new and SUPER clean. The land and scenery was gorgeous. Completely remote, on private land, with a lake and mountain views in all directions.

Additionally, it is very convenient. Do you want to go fishing? You have a large trout lake out your front door. Do you want to ATVing? The local ATV shop will drop off ATVs at your door and endless trails are accessible right from the property. Mines, lakes, mountain passes, etc....all available right there from your door. Hiking? The Colorado trail runs right through the property and there are other trails as well.

We will be back. I have stayed in 4 different places in Salida and about 10 in Colorado...this one blows them all away.

A must See!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely one of the most beautiful places my husband and I have ever experienced! The views of the mountains, lake, and surroundings are breathtaking! The cabins are immaculate, cozy, and very comfortable with plenty of room. We also loved the town of Salida, lots of shopping and great restaurants.

We had such a wonderful stay we cant wait to go back! I highly recommend this property for a couples get away or a fun family adventure! Dont miss this gem!!

The Upper Arkansas Valley is one of the most splendidly beautiful areas in Colorado. Surrounded by fourteen thousand footpeaks, and with year round mild temperatures, it's no wonder it's called the 'Headwaters of Adventure'. This is Colorado at its best! Hiking, biking, fishing, rafting, kayaking, skiing, golfing, climbing, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, rock hunting, you name it, if it's an outdoor activity you can enjoy it here.

With winter, some of the best skiing in the country is all within driving distance. Monarch Mountain and Snowboard Area is just 10 miles from the cabins. Enjoy some of the best powder in the state, without the long lines.

Boasting easy accessibility, public lands abound in the Salida area. Only18% of Chaffee County is privately owned. The rest is yours to enjoy and experience. The San Isabel National Forest is comprised of 1,109,782 acres with over 700 miles of trails, many of which are motorized accessible so bring your four-wheelers or rent them in Salida.
