Great 3 night getaway

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I chose to stay here for three nights in October and we were very pleased. The owners, Eladio and Louise Gore, were absolutely wonderful hosts. They made sure we had everything we needed and answered any questions we had. The property and accommodations were beautiful. The lake is wonderful and I got to take my kayak out during our stay. The location was perfect as it was close to shopping and restaurants. We will be staying here from now on when we come to visit our friends in Cape Cod.

Best MV vacation ever!

  • 5 of 5

My family decided to returned to MV and this home specifically after switching up our vacation plans last year. We had such a great time and the accommodations certainly contributed to our enjoyment. The location of the home allowed of us experience more of Oak Bluffs than we have in the past including chartering a boat at the nearby pier. The property is really cute, clean, well-maintained, and just the right size for our group of 5. We also appreciated the amenities such as the well-appointed bathrooms, linens, beach chairs and a new sofa. We hope to return to the home next year!

Hidden Haven in the Bluffs

  • 5 of 5

My family spent the Memorial Day Weekend at this wonderful cottage. It was so clean and lots of space. Minutes from walking downtown and the neighborhood was so quiet. I would not hesitate to return if I came back. This is definitely a great choice. Loved the backyard to sit and enjoy the weather.

The Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This is a great property. It is walking distance to town, but far enough away that the only people passing through are people living/staying in the area. We were lucky to find this rental available only 2 months before labor day weekend. The house was perfect for our party of 6 (3 couples) with 3 cozy bedrooms upstairs and a nice living area/kitchen downstairs. Everything about the description was accurate and we were pleased to find that there were more than enough towels and other necessities, plus a few nice unexpected surprises.

Being on Martha's Vineyard for the first time, we wanted to venture out and explore. We rented bikes near the dock in Oak Bluffs and rode down the shoreline towards Edgartown. On the way, we spotted a few places we would later revisit; A kayak rental spot, a 'buck-a-shuck' oyster deal at a hotel/country club, and a bridge clearly marked "no jumping" with tons of kids and adults jumping off into the water below. We kept riding until we reached Edgartown and one of the guys in our party spotted a sign for beer tastings. We wound up spending a few hours at a great local brewery called Bad Martha's. The atmosphere was great...and so was the beer. They had plates to nosh on, games to play, and flights of beer to drink. Afterwards we kept going further into Edgartown but eventually turned back to return the bikes. That night, on the advice of one of the employees of the brewery, we checked out a really cool bar in Oak Bluffs called The Loft. It was packed with a good assortment of drinks and an even better assortment of games to play. I would definitely recommend checking out The Loft.

The next day, we ventured out and started to walk the same path we biked the day before with no specific plans. We ended up renting kayaks and kayaking towards the jumping bridge from the day before. We pulled the kayaks up on the beach and went through many, many rounds of jumps off the bridge. It was exhilarating. On the way back, we stopped at the hotel/country club for buck-a-shuck ($1 each) oysters. The night ended with a grand BBQ at the house.

The next, and last day, we grabbed a leisurely brunch by the docks and then headed to the local beach for one last day in the sun. The air was hot but the water was cool. After a while there, it was time to catch one last lobster dinner and take the ferry home.

Thanks to the property owners and property manager who helped make our great weekend happen!

Great for a Girl's Weekend

  • 4 of 5

We were just about to give up on our week on Martha's Vineyard because we waited to late to find a house and this little gem had a cancellation. The house is adorable. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it doesn't have air-conditioning which was an issue on some days. Hard to get cool when you're getting dressed to go out and the blow dryers are going. The location is perfect. Also, the neighbors were extremely loud, but that couldn't be helped. I recommend this property. The outdoor shower is amazing!!

The perfect family getaway

  • 5 of 5

This house was exactly what we'd been looking for. We've stayed on the island for the past 3 years trying out different areas and types of houses. This year was by far our best experience yet.

The house comfortably fit the 4 adults and two children we had. The kitchen and living rooms were very welcoming and had everything we needed to eat in/lounge whenever we decided to. There is a 1/2 bath connected to the kitchen so you don't have to run up and down stairs every time you needed to use bathroom. This house has a brand new master bathroom upstairs that connects two bedrooms which was perfect with the kids. There is also another full bathroom upstairs for the third bedroom (that's right...two full baths upstairs).

The backyard is fenced off with enough lawn for the kids to run around. There is also a great deck with outdoor seating/table and gas grill. We ended up eating in quite a bit so the grill came in very handy and worked great.

The owner is responsive and I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to be within walking distance to Oak Bluffs center but just far enough on the outskirts to miss any late night craziness. Fantastic spot!
