Great pool. My grandkids loved swimming.

Short term renter/vacationing

This house was better than expected! Owners went out of their way to make our stay was comfortable. The house was clean, fully equipped

, and even came with bikes to tour the quiet neighborhood. We spent most of our time by the pool and exploring lovely Cape Coral. Safe and quiet surroundings. Would highly recommend others to stay here.

Excellent property with great location!

We rented this home from Sept 30-Oct 7, 2016. We had a great experience with this property. Randy, the caretaker of the property was always easy to reach by phone if needed. He even went out with us for a day of fishing on a boat that we rented. He was able to point out some good fishing spots for us. We did notice that the pool was beginning to grow some algae. One phone call to Randy and he had the pool service at the house within a few hours (pool guy even showed up while it was raining that evening so the pool would be ready to go the next day).

We were actually stranded by hurricane Matthew for an extra day and Mike let us stay one more night.

Overall, nice home, great location. We will absolutely be staying at Mike's home again.

Sour aftertaste to an otherwise great stay

We were so happy when we found the property on HomeAway and had a smooth booking process and check in procedure. The house certainly lived up to our expectations - it was just as the pictures promised with a great swimming pool, generous space and everything we could wish for. We had a lovely week in C Coral.

When we checked out, we followed all the instructions, including sending a message about our check-out time, got back to Sweden and waited to get our damage deposit back. When we had heard nothing (no damage deposit in our account, nor anything to indicate that the inspection following is moving out had anything to report), we wrote to Mike, asking when the deposit would be refunded. We heard nothing. Another week went by and we wrote to both of Mike's e-mail addresses, still no reaction. We started to worry that something was wrong, so we wrote to the HomeExchange team, who replied that they would get in touch with Mike on our behalf. Still no reaction. We tried to send text messages to Randy, to Mike (they bounced) and more e-mails. Nothing.

Nearly three weeks after us leaving the house, we got a message from Mike saying that we would be refunded only part of our damage deposid, due to us damaging a coffee table. Nothing else, just asking us if we wanted to see a photo of the table or a copy of the invoice for the new table. Yes please. We got the photo and due to the poor quality, we could barely see the table, nor the supposed damage (a round dent with a hole in it). But fine, it is nearly impossible for us to prove that we did or did not cause that damage, and that's just how it is. What we do object very strongly to is the way the situation was handled. We heard NOTHING from Mike for three weeks. If we had indeed damaged that table, we would expect to be informed within days of our departure, right after the inspection. Not three weeks afterwards!

Considering that we repeatedly tried to get in touch with Mike about our damage deposit, the whole thing felt uncomfortable. We have no problems owning up to any damage caused by us (we don't deny that this damage may have happened on our watch), but the way it as handled by Mike did not feel okay.

All in all, we had a great stay in Mike's house and in Cape Coral, but we really feel poorly treated due to what followed.
