About the property

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

Relax on the patio and enjoy the tranquility that a beautiful sunset and the sights and sounds of Lake Erie can bring. You can search for shells and seaglass on the little beach near the cottage too. When you go inside this cozy, beautifully furnished cottage you can still see the lake from the dining and living area. There is also a large yard behind the cottage. The cottage is in a private association of 8 cottages that all have access to the lake. The large yard is a common area that can be used to play volleyball, soccer, softball, frisbee, etc. There is a wonderful, well-known French restaurant just a few miles from the cottage along with many other great places to eat. The town of Vermilion reminds us of a quaint New England town. In the Summer there are festivals, farmers markets and music in the streets.

About The Owner

We inherited this lovely cottage from my Great Uncle Benny many years ago. My mom and I renovated it and I lived in it for 8 years. I LOVED coming home from work in the evenings to watch the sunset. I also enjoyed sitting by the water. The sound of the waves is so relaxing. This place is so comfortable both inside and out. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as my family and I have over the years.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 1992

I found a gem on the Lake!

  • 5 of 5

Our Ohio trip was for visiting with family in Vermilion & the Lorain country area. This cottage was perfect for our week stay. It was very comfortable for the 4 of us. The grandchildren loved being on the lake & playing outside as well as the piano. I was concerned that it might have that musty smell but trust me everything was clean and fresh and the dehumidifier helped. Lisa provides everything you can possibly think of which made staying here very relaxing. I will miss sitting by the lake in the morning drinking coffee and watching the beautiful sunsets in the evening. We had PERFECT weather. The property as a whole is very well maintained & the residents and guests all friendly. We used the laundromat in town & I recommend shopping for FRESH meat & produce at Farmer's Market instead of the GiantEagle. Farmer's Market has everything. We had some friends come to visit and they were amazed when they seen this homey cottage, one who lived just 20 mi away said she wanted to rent it for a mini-vacation. Thank you Lisa for providing a home away from home.

A Great Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

I recently spent several days with a friend at Lisa's cottage - a "girls getaway". It is charming, comfortable, clean and stocked with everything you could need for a stay. It really is more a home than a summer cottage. Lisa was in touch by phone making sure our stay went smoothly. She was a pleasure to work with.

I would recommend this property for just about anybody. The area surrounding the property is quiet and fairly private which is nice. But within an easy drive there are all kinds of activities available from jet-skiing and amusement parks to visiting a Confederate cemetery or a winery. You can spend a day just exploring the quaint town of Vermilion. Watching the sunset from the property's beach was the highlight of each day. We were there for only a few days but came home feeling we had had a real vacation. We hope to return next summer for a longer stay.

Romantic Getaway

  • 5 of 5

I can not put into words how lovely Lisa's cottage is. It is beautifully decorated and we had everything we needed. I even snagged a few idea for my own home from some of her decorations. I got my husband and I away for the weekend for his birthday and her place was perfect. I woke him up both mornings listening to her record collection that she keeps in the cottage for you to listen to. Although we would have loved more time there we enjoyed what time that we did have. We've even talked about bringing up the whole family next time. The small town of Vermilion is quiet and beautiful and we enjoyed walking around town and trying out all new places to eat. We can not wait to come back. Thank you Lisa for everything you did for us and keeping up this lovely cottage.

Nice and Peaceful Vacation Home with View of Lake Erie

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed the comfortable and clean home setting of this cottage on the lake. Our grandson loved his summer vacation here away from the city. Easy access to additional beaches, parks, and attractions in Vermilion, Huron, and Sandusky. Cottage is well stocked with kitchen cookware/dishware and the bath/bedrooms with linen supplies.

Best Place We Could Have Found!

  • 5 of 5

I don't normally give reviews, but Lisa's cottage was so absolutely perfect for our needs that I had to! The proximity to the lake (30 yds) and the cuteness of the place made our kids exclaim that they wanted "to live there forever!!". And Lisa accommodated our personal requests graciously, namely an allergy to artificial scents, by washing all the sheets and towels in scent and dye free detergent. Lisa's kindness, combined with such a wonderful cottage and location, makes this rental property the deal of the century, in our opinion. Any time we travel to the Amherst, OH area, we will contacting Lisa first thing!

Perfectly charming...the cabin and the host!

  • 5 of 5

Lisa is a great host and the cabin was a lovely place to call home for 4 days with my sisters. There is so much to do in the area and we enjoyed having this lovely cabin to come home to each night. We ventured to local wineries and to the Islands. Downtown Vermillion is lovely and the people so very kind and helpful. Lisa's personal touches were appreciated and we had everything we needed. She certainly makes you feel right at home. Unfortunately, we had LOTS of rain during our stay but that certainly didn't dampen our spirits! The sitting area on the lake shore was great for our morning coffee and the sunsets were beautiful. I hope we can make a return visit soon. Thanks, Lisa!
