About Vicki and Greg Roe

We are only the second owners of this lovely cottage. Our family bought the cottage in 2001 when our children were very young. It was our home away from home during the summer months. A few years ago we bought the home directly north of the cottage and we decided that we would share our lovely cottage with other families that are seeking to get away from it all. We hope you find this cottage to be as magical as we have.

Why Vicki and Greg Roe chose Gobles

My husbands family have spent their summers on Brandywine Lake since the late 1940's. When we had our children, we began looking for a home on the lake to spend our summer weekends. We were very fortunate to purchase this property which was the perfect size for a young family.

What makes this cottage unique

For many years, this was our home away from home. Our fondest memories include having coffee on the front porch in the morning while our children were sleeping, watching our kids build sand castles in the sand, taking naps in a beach chair, teaching our children how to water ski and tube, and going for boat rides at dusk followed by smores and a camp fire.

Perfect Place for a Week to do Nothing

  • 5 of 5

Vicki and Greg were great hosts. The cottage was better than we had hoped. The lake was quiet and the water was beautiful. Tons of small towns within 15-20 minutes and the west coast is 35 minutes away. Couldn't have been a better stay!!

We spent a lot of time on the screened-in porch, very nice! Beautiful small lake, very quiet during the week. Cozy and clean cabin, pictures accurate. The air conditioner in the living room will cool off the whole house. Bathroom is small and the shower is very tiny, an adult can hardly turn around. Would like to have had more towels and blankets available but we made do with what was available. Kitchen was equipped with the basic necessities, no serving spoons and bring your own spices (salt and pepper only thing there). Took a day trip to South Haven, great shops downtown and several antique stores in town also. If you like antique shopping don't miss the Garden House Antiques, very nice. Overall well worth the price.

Great Time had by all on Brandwine Lake.

  • 5 of 5

What a great week my family had while staying at Brandywine Lake. Weather was excellent, swam till we turned into prunes, floated on rafts, rowed across and around the lake in a row boat, built sand castles all while on the property and all essentials were provided by the owner. Anything extra needed was just down the road in Gobles. And South Haven, Saugatuck, St. Joseph beaches were less than an hour away from this perfectly located property. Inside was quaint and extremely clean. First time supplies again were provided by owner and all cooking and eating utensils were included. Bring your swimming suit, lotion, beach towel, and a cooler of ....and you are ready to have a wonderful time.

We had a wonderful time at this lovely cottage. It was the perfect vacation for our family with 2 young children (4 years and 2 years old). The kids loved swimming in the lake and playing in the sand - and it is all just outside the door. The cottage is clean and in great condition. We took advantage of being close to some other towns like South Haven, Holland and Paw Paw. We loved being close to the Kal-Haven bike trail. I would definitely recommend!

Meeting up with Midwest family....

  • 5 of 5

We found our cabin to be as advertised and more. Having used lake cottages ( on this lake!)growing up, I remember packing everything from bed linens to dish soap to pots and pans. That is not the case here! The kitchen is well equipped for a vacation cottage, in addition there are plenty of bath towels, extra blankets for chilly nights, and many thoughtful touches such as paper towels, bug spray, flashlight, .....just bring groceries and your beach towels and you'll be good to go. We really just wanted to sit on the porch, it was so peaceful. However we managed to swim, visit one of many local blueberry farms, cruise the lake, go for walks, visit Paw Paw and Kalamazoo. I hadn't been to Kalamazoo in years the downtown is much improved with many decent restaurants now. Definitely want to go back next year AND visit all the wineries we didn't get to. ( 'Cause we couldn't leave the porch😉). A very pleasant family visit.
