We stayed for a week. This cabin was fantastic. We brought our Golden and he absolutely loved it. He was so sad when we had to leave. Every morning he would run to take a dip in the lake. The view of the mountains was so beautiful. So quiet and fantastic. We posted so much about it on facebook, all of our friends are asking where we were.
Perfect for a small family (2-5 people), this cabin was amazingly clean, well-stocked with items for cooking (bowls, utensils, knives, grill), and most strikingly - had a spectacular view. The view was much like a Bierstadt painting!
The sleeping arrangements were comfortable - my daughter loved getting to sleep in the "special" sofa pull-out bed. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the pull-out was.
I loved cooking breakfast and looking out over the lake. Also, sitting on the deck with coffee and looking over the lake was a great way to relax and take a break from seeing city buildings.
The owners were both very friendly and nice to our two young children (both under 4 years). If we're ever in the area again, we will definitely stay here!
These cabins are a treasure. What an amazing location and expansive property. The cabin was brand new and spotless with every convenience provided for. The layout was great and we felt comfortable in a one bedroom cabin even though we had four people. The lake is serene and relaxing and we loved cruising around it in the paddle boat. Bill and Christine were available for all our needs. We can't recommend this property highly enough. We will be back!
We requested a booking at the last minute and the hosts were very accommodating. We loved the amazing view of the mountains reflected in the lake directly in front of the cabin and having coffee on the deck watching the family of ducks swim by. The cabin was immaculate and well stocked and looked brand new. The hosts were so helpfu!l We would love to return someday.
This cabin is awesome! We have been to a lot of places and this is one of our absolute FAVES! This is such a beautiful property...way nicer than the pictures even show. We will definitely be back. Thank you for your hospitality.
We were really impressed with the property. We have spent extensive time in Chaffee county and this has to be one of the most beautiful settings! The lake ringed by mountains is spectacular. Even though Salida is only 10-15 minutes away you really feel removed from everything.
The owners did a really nice job with the cabin and upkeep of the property. They live on the other side of the lake and are very responsive. The cabin is small but very comfortable. The deck is great for soaking in the views and watching the world go by. The Colorado trail is an easy walk from the property.
I recommend the cabin without reservation.
The Upper Arkansas Valley is one of the most splendidly beautiful areas in Colorado. Surrounded by fourteen thousand foot peaks, and with year round mild temperatures, it's no wonder it's called the 'Headwaters of Adventure'. This is Colorado at it's best! Hiking, biking, fishing, rafting, kayaking, skiing, golfing, climbing, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, rock hunting, you name it, if it's an outdoor activity you can enjoy it here.
Boasting easy accessibility, public lands abound in the Salida area. Only18% of Chaffee County is privately owned. The rest is yours to enjoy and experience. The San Isabel National Forest is comprised of 1,109,782 acres with over 700 miles of trails, many of which are motorized accessible so bring your four-wheelers or rent them in Salida at All Season Adventures. Enjoy cross country skiing, snow shoeing, snowmobiling, rock hunting, fly fishing the high mountain lakes and streams, exploring old ghost towns, wildlife viewing, rock climbing, or experience the
