We stayed at 5 O'clcok over the holiday weekend. Our stay was great our entire family had a great time. The house was clean and spacious. The management was helpful and very nice. We recommend this house to any one who is looking for a beach get away.
Wow what a wonderful home. I was incredibly happy that it was beachfront and honestly as described. We had a large family gathering and everyone was comfortable. Everything work and there was no issues. I read a previous review that was negative but feel that might have been somebody looking for a refund due to weather or something silly like that. I will rent again
This house has had some decent updates in the kitchen and bathrooms, but the rest of the house needs serious attention. The 4th "bedroom" not only does not have a closet but it has absolutely no storage. The bed in there has a mattress that basically feels like springs with a cover. It's unusable and if there is a trundle under that bed, it will not pull out as it is jammed. So, basically that room sleeps 1 person on an upper bunk with any clothes, etc. stored on the floor. There is not room for a blow up mattress-we tried.
The 2 couches in the den are in rough shape and you can visibly see the frames are horribly bent. They pull out to make beds that are unusable. The den doesn't even have a coffee table.
I informed the owner a day after we arrived about 6 items that needed attention. She brought us dish towels (since there was only 1) and replaced the hose downstairs with a cheap one that kinked.
The owner said some of the items (broken off toilet paper holder and only towel rack in the main bathroom) would be fixed by a handy man coming out that day (Thursday). He didn't show up till Monday which was 2 days before our checkout day. Even he made a comment about the house being neglected.
My main complaint while there was about the cover for the pergola. It is badly damaged and not only doesn't provide rain coverage, it flaps in the wind in a maddening way. It made noise the entire week. At night you could even hear it inside the house and it looked horrible and cheap from the beach. The owner would not even respond to that complaint and afterwards claimed that they were trying to get their insurance company to pay for it since it was damaged by hail in May. It just needed to be ripped off - we weren't even asking for it to be replaced. I insisted that something needed to be done and was ignored.
Besides those problems, the dishwasher leaked badly and the A/C control upstairs is not working properly and shuts off at random times. We tried everything and were up several times a night messing with it.
The owner is slow to respond to emails and addresses what she chooses, then keeps repeating that they try to please everyone (as if I'm being hard to please) and that they were unaware of the issues. I have rented houses from VRBO for about 15 years and have never had a complaint or asked for a partial refund. The owner has said they do not offer any refunds and only apologizes. I would not recommend this house to anyone.
WOW. We stayed here for the month and each week a different group of family and friends came to visit. We all had plenty of room. Enough dishes, pots, silverware, cabinet space, bowls, cooking utensils. etc etc to cook MANY MANY HUGE meals.
Owner very quick to answer questions.
Family and friends said they all want to come back next year !! ME TOO. !!
View and sounds of the surf a plus !
My family and I rented this house recently and can't say enough great things about it. The location was the best we have ever had on Galveston beach. Some homes we have stayed at in the past advertise beachfront but are not typically that. This house was the closest to the ocean we have ever been.
The interior is nicely done with plenty of space to get around for family fun without being cooped up in your bedrooms as other beta houses we rented have been. Not to mention the giant front deck overlooking the ocean.
Absolutely loved this home. Great location, right on the beach! No brush, bridges or fence to walk around, just step straight out on the beach and enjoy. House is very nice, fresh paint, new cabinets, very nice new bathrooms. Everything was lovely! Stores are close by if you forgot something. Totally enjoyed our visit!! We brought teenagers and they loved it too! Owners are very nice and return emails and deposit promptly!
What an amazing experience we had! Stayed there for Labor Day weekend and it could've not been any better. The pictures don't do the cabin any favors... it's so much better! I celebrated my wedding right off the cabin on the beach and it was fantastic. I will be staying here again and again and will recommend it very highly. The thing I liked the most is that we were away from all the hassle of Galveston's Seawall area but still close enough to drive there for dinner or something if needed... We didn't have to but did go to the Strand to visit the shops there. It was great!
Sea Isle is a very friendly subdivision that offer a park, swimming pool and a fishing pier.
