About Jeanne Conry
Live and work in London
Jeanne Conry purchased this Apartment in 2007
Why Jeanne Conry chose Villaricos
Had a lovely holiday in this region 30 years ago touring the beautiful cities of Andalucia and stunning coastline. So when we were in a position to buy it was the obvious choice.
What makes this Apartment unique
You are part of a real village not on a development that requires you to get in your car to get a loaf bread. Everything, shops, restaurants, bars and beaches are all very close by. If you wanted to you could park up the car and not get in it for your whole stay. But if you do want or need to drive you can park right at the edge of the sandy beach and this has disabled access.
Please consider the following guidelines when booking this property:
100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
Clean, relaxing, well equipped
We loved our stay at Jeanne’s apartment. The place was clean, and very well equipped with everything you would present. Children really enjoyed it due to the shared pool which was always clean. The beaches were very close to the apartment which took about 5min walk. Overall, we had a very relaxing family holiday. Jeanne is very friendly and answers any queries promptly. Would definitely recommend.
We are very pleased to hear that you found the apartment clean and had everything you needed. Its great to hear the pool was a success with the children and you made use of the local beaches and were also able to relax.
Rentals in Spain
Experiencing diferent types of accommodations in Spain, this appartment was great. Home from home in a very pleasant community. Local beaches, restaurants and bars all good. Would stay here again.
Thanks for your lovely comments we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at our apartment .
Lovely appartment - great location
Our stay at Jeanne's apartment more than met expectations. It is comfortable and very well equipped with great views from rear balconies overlooking the sea. The property is accurately described, clean and well maintained.
We enjoyed spending time in Villaricos. It has plenty of options of places to eat and drink. We particularly enjoyed El Gato for tapas and went twice to the restaurant Goah - great clams! Casa Verde was a really nice bar to have a pre (or post!) dinner drink. The largest beach at the other side of the village has a beach restaurant - I really enjoyed the goats cheese salad I had there!
Villaricos is ideally situated should you wish to explore the area. We made a few trips out - inland to Vera and several resort towns either side of Villaricos.
Villaricos is not overly 'touristy' and retains a real sense of it being a Spanish village. The local festival started just before we left and was a celebration enjoyed by locals and visitors alike, with a band playing and dancing in the square.
A great week overall and even though it was August, we missed the heat wave and enjoyed temperatures in the high 20s /low 30s mainly and the coastal location provided a welcome breeze.
Great customer service from Jeanne, and Barbara was there to welcome us upon arrival. Great holiday - thank you!!
Wonderful relaxing stay
Great location, very clean and well equipped apartment. Lovely veranda to sit out in the evening. Wonderful views from the roof terrace, was very windy though when we visited but that is often the case on this Costa.
Have visited the area many times over the past five years and have always wanted to stay in Villaricous and we were not disappointed. Charming village with some lovely bars and restaurants. We would personally recommend the restaurant behind Goah (Los Christonas? can't remember the actual name), the beach bar (great setting) and the last tapas bar of three on the left going up the street (had a blue sign) was really good value, very tasty, fish caught locally in Villaricous each day.
Barbara was there to greet us and was very helpful.
People very friendly in the local shops, bars and restaurants if you make a little effort to speak Spanish (we only have basic) with the exception of El Gato in the square, very rude owner. We were disappointed with Goah time, visited last year and previously when it was El Mar la Mar and was always good. this year service and poor and food not up to previous standard and expensive for what was on offer.
home from home
Very nice and clean, well equipped apartment with many extras to make you feel at home. The only thing that did disappoint us was that there was not aircon in all bedrooms as the weather was extremely hot when we visited Villaricos. I would recommend this apartment for families. We enjoyed eating at El Rinconcito food and service great but you must speak some Spanish.
The good choice of restaurants, bars and shops within the village and the easy access to different beaches makes this an ideal spot to relax or a good base for exploring the numerous beachy coves to be found heading out of the village on the beautiful unspoilt coastline of Almeria.
Attractions - busy Sunday morning market (clothes, linen and food) open June to end of August; trips on a glass bottomed boat from the Harbour; Aqua park and beaches in Vera; Go-karting in Garrucha; beautiful views from the picturesque mountain village of Mojacar; watch a show at Mini Hollywood where they make the spaghetti westerns; take a day out in the Natural park of Cabo De Gato with empty beaches and wildlife; visit Cave houses in Cuevas De Almanzora; choice of golf courses including the renowned Desert Springs; beautiful sandy beach at San Juan.
The busy town and port of Almeria is an hour's drive away and Granada with its stunning Alhambra Palace, gardens and Moorish history only 2hr. away.
