About John H

We've been on Coldwater Lake for twenty five years and enjoyed every minute of it!

From the Eagles that migrate through with the coot in the spring and fall to the fox, squirrels, turkeys and deer that visit year round it's a unique experience.

Our residence, next door, allows us to enjoy our family; children, their spouses and our 10 grandchildren.

Sailing on the lake summer and winter are among our favorite hobbies.

Outstanding property for family vacation?

  • 5 of 5

We (grandpa and grandma) had a great time here with our three 'kids', their spouses and three grand kids. The house was laid out very well and we never got in the way of each other. Lots of rooms and space made for a very relaxing week. Equipped very well for weather. Could eat inside, in a screened porch, out on open deck or on the walkout barbeque area. Fire pit area was very functional with brick floor, lots of comfortable seating and safe. Home was in immaculate condition, very clean and well furnished. Lots of handy extras from insect spray to floating platform to fishing poles to cleaning supplies to life jackets for children. Owner lives next door for immediate response for any information or help. The location is at the end of the street and very private. The lake was sandy, warm and very clear. Kids had fun on the dock with fishing poles using fake bait with no hooks as they could see through the water and see the little fish biteing on the bait. Chain of lakes was fun for taking rides and swimming in different areas. Had fun going to nearby drive in theater and old fashioned root beer stand. We will return as we did not have time to hit the golf course on the lake or go to all the lakes. Fishing was good and had a Friday fish fry. Location was accurately described although it is much nicer than photos show. We had always went north to lakes around Traverse, but this year we had a early date and wanted warmer water for mid June. We were not disappointed. Cheaper, closer, and water was clear with a sandy beach that was just shallow enough for the small ones and at end of dock deep enough for the adults. Our families loved it, had a good time, and it was good value.

Great vacation place

  • 5 of 5

We had a great vacation at this site. My family (2 adults, 13, 10 , and 6) and our friends (2 adults, 12 and 10) stayed a week here, and this location had everything we wanted; plenty of space, clean, and all the comforts of a nice home (which made packing simple). The lake was warm, clean and calm. The kids swam, tubed, and learned how to ski! The owner was very kind, easy to talk to, and always accessible. We grilled out and ate on the patio almost every night. We are hoping we get to vacation here again next year.

Perfect Place for our Family

  • 5 of 5

When my daughter found this lake house online, my husband and I took a ride to see it. The owner lives next door and he was kind enough to give us a tour. Half way through the tour we were ready to give him our security deposit. This house is so clean and so spacious. The two bedrooms up and two down were perfect for my family of 6 adults and 5 small children. It was just what we were looking for with a large lawn area and clear, shallow water for the kids to play in. As a family, we have rented a summer place for several years now, but this is the first time we are looking forward to returning to the same place next year!

Glad we found this GEM

  • 5 of 5

So glad we found this gem. This home was very clean and spacious. Windows run the entire length of the house giving beautiful lake views. Our family of 6 adults and 6 grandkids were very comfortable in the four bedrooms, two of which had private bathrooms. All the bathrooms were not only super clean but also very modern. Along with a screened porch and balcony deck was a large walkout patio with grill and fire pit, great for roasting marshmallows.

The lake was amazing. The sandy bottom and clear water were great for all of us to play in. The house has a 100’ pier and at about 80’ out the kids were still able to play in waist deep water. The fishing was excellent too. We caught from our rented pontoon as well as right off the pier. Our 6-yr. old grandson caught 30 fish. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great place for a relaxing family vacation or getaway.

The listing is very accurate but you need to see the house in person to appreciate it.
