The property is as welcoming as is the owner. As comfy as it gets. Thoughtfully appointed, the sweetest place in the mountains of northern New Mexico. The owner leaves warm, brilliant muffins and great coffee in the foyer every morning (I needed to pass on breakfast, but I'm sure it would have been great). I'd come back in a minute.
Our stay at Lorey's was amazing! She is a wonderful hostess and our rooms were clean and spacious. We enjoyed visiting with her friends at the different galleries in Truchas. This place is a must if you're visiting Northern New Mexico. Thank you Lorey and I hope to visit again soon! Kathy
it was a pleasure having you both...lorey
Beautiful home, unforgettable stay
My family of four throughly enjoyed our stay! The location was quiet and the wood burning stove kept us perfectly warm, despite the snowfall. In fact, at no time were we ever cold. There were space heaters in each room, as well as a radiator in the bathroom. Lorey made us feel so welcome in her beautifully decorated cozy home. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!
Welcoming and cozy in a beautiful mountain setting.
We only stayed one night on our way through the area, but I really wish we could have stayed longer. Everything was perfect, from the initial inquiry to getting to the house, to the welcome to the owner’s lovely home. It’s exactly what I had hoped for.
monica and sean were great! hope to see them in the spring.
My husband and I booked a last minute trip for my birthday. We have never been to New Mexico before and were hesitant of where to stay. After reading the reviews, we decided on Lorie's place. It was even better than we expected. It was cozy and warm when we got there as she had the fireplace going. She provided a bottle of wine and every morning we woke up to fresh homemade blueberry and cherry muffins, jam, mixed berries and hot coffee. It was perfect. The entrance was private. This location is also very quiet and a good place to stay if you want to visit Santa Fe and Taos. She was helpful to give advice on things to do. Wish we had more time! Would stay there again!
Lovely and unique getaway on the High Road to Toas
We had a lovely stay during our last evening in Northern New Mexico. We felt that we saved the best for last. Our host Lorey was very welcoming and the space she has created is peaceful, roomy, and so unique. I wish we had more time there but will look forward to staying in Truchas again in the future.
