A few problems

  • 3 of 5

This is a smaller, nice apartment in a very convenient location. There were a few problems though. The mattress is totally worn out and needs to be replaced. Airplane noise is very annoying. Wi-Fi worked only occasionally.

Perfect place

  • 5 of 5

I would definitely recommend it. The garden was a peaceful oasis before and after touring. It was private, accommodating and felt like home away from home. Owner was very nice.

Close to downtown and freeway.

  • 4 of 5

The garage was a bit small for a car. Noise from upstairs tenants. Stay was ok for a couple night stay.

Great location!!

  • 5 of 5

If you want to stay somewhere close to everything, this is your place. We were 5 to 10 minutes from everything we did, except Legoland (but we knew that in advance). Futon couch worked great for the kids. Lots of extras but you don't get it at other VRBO rentals.

Great Location

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed being able to stay away from the Hotel scene in San Diego. We enjoyed the neighborhood. The donut shop recommended by the owners was AMAZING!! I still am talking about it. The two things that we were not satisfied with was the issue with ants. They were everywhere. There was ant spray left under sink I'm sure due to this. My bags in closet and bedroom/bathroom were covered in ants. It almost delayed us being able to check out timely. We had to unpack everything and take the bags outside to rid the 100's of ants that were covering our items as to not infest our car for travel home. Since the property seems to know there is an ant issue, with spray being provided, it would be nice if they are also doing a monthly maintenance during the bad months. The second issue was the outlets in the living room. Some were loose and the one that wasnt sparked out of the wall and killed my laptop. After returning home and having this checked out, I was told my battery was fried from the incident and this would be $99 to replace. I guess the stay was more costly than i originally planned for. Other than this issue, we enjoyed the scenery and tropical ambiance.

Clean, quiet, secure, convenient.

  • 5 of 5

Choose this over a large hotel. The room was a very nice midrange California (small) apartment. Grounds are charming. Very convenient by car to downtown and attractions. Parking is another plus as is the Krisp market and great pizza a half block away. Happy to spend 4 nights and would return.

Retired professor. We travel internationally & have two Bichon's. Love to walk on the waterfront and eat the best fresh fish at Mitch's Seafood which is located at the Sport fishing landing. Balboa Park & the Zoo are favorites; Park has the Prado Restaurant which has great happy hour drinks & food; Zoo has Albert's Tree Restaurant which many do not know about; it is breezy & has an African motif.
