Cozy spot with nice view of Hatch Cove

Perfect size for 3 couples - unfortunate that mice were quite present and made for some sleepless nights.

Owner's Response: We are sorry to hear that the reviewer had some sleepless nights. In conversations with our guests, we believed they enjoyed their stay. Our cottage is located adjacent to Hatch Cove Preserve a lovely area of open fields and wooded areas. Throughout the year, you can see hawks and eagles and deer grazing in the fields. In early fall, mice are busy trying to find a warm indoor location for winter. Our cottage has a fieldstone foundation. We will continue to take measures, as we have over the past years, to close the smallest gaps in the foundation and make our house as tight as possible. We have been renting our cottage for 18 years and pride ourselves on having a clean, welcoming house. We have met many wonderful people from all over our country and from around the world.

Refreshing and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Oh this cottage is wonderful!!!! We were all sad to leave! The owners have thought of everything and the views are beyond gorgeous. Our family lives to walk and we enjoyed many long walks around Castine and the beach. Great home for families and also perfect for a couple's get away! You won't be disappointed!!!

Quiet retreat in a peaceful orchard

  • 4 of 5

Our stay at the cottage was very peaceful and much needed. The apple trees surrounding the house created a lovely setting and made wonderful pies! The house was clean and comfortable for the most part especially the beds. We did find the furniture not to be comfortable and a bit outdated. However over all we had a wonderful stay and would stay there again.

Owner's Response: Shirley, the heirloom apples make great pies and fried apples with cinnamon. Fall is a wonderful time to visit Castine and explore our area during foliage season. Constance
