About The Owner

We have been married for 18 years and love living in New Orleans. Professionally we are both dental specialists in Periodontics , implants and Oral Surgery. We were blessed with twins in 2010 and decided to move to a bigger house only 8 blocks away to accommodate our new life. But, could not part with our beautiful home on Laurel Street. We had many offers to buy our house, but opted to keep it and share it with vacationers to enjoy the best of New Orleans.

The neighborhood is one of the best kept secrets in the city. It's quite simply all you could ask for to live like a local while being at convenient distances to everything New Orleans has to offer. Everyone who walks into this property is in awe by its beauty, excellent condition, quality of furnishings, modern amenities and feel good sensation. Why stock the pantry when all the healthy choices are at Whole Foods Organic Market two blocks away? Feel like a cappucino and people watching? Take your pick from 5 coffee shops within 1-3 minutes walking distance. A fresh pastry for breakfast? Laurel bakery is half a block away. A drink before dinner? Enjoy the local scene at 'Dos Jefes' or St. Joe's 2-3 blocks away. A food connoisseur? Go to where the locals in the know-how come to this neighborhood to dine: Martinique, Crepe Nanou, Patois, Flaming Torch and Lillette all within 2-5 minutes. Feel like jogging? Best neighborhood and house!

We loved our stay so much. Ana was very accesible and helpful! House is in a fantastic neighborhood and the area of Magazine street that it's near is really great. I used to live in NOLA and chose the house for location and cuteness!! The pickled wood doors are so pretty, plan to replicate them on my remodel! Thanks Ana!!

Great place & wonderful location!

Perfect for families or adult couples. Love there are 3 full baths! Very clean, nicely decorated. Master bedroom & bathroom up stairs is very large, and comfortable bed! Would recommend a full length mirror somewhere for us vain people! Love the location, walking to all our favorite places on Magazine St, not too mention blocks from the Whole Foods! Looking forward to many more stays!

Beautiful home with no hot water and inadequate compensation!

I would have loved to give Ana a great review, but we spent two nights without hot water and received only a nominal credit for our troubles! The home itself is beautiful and the location ideal. However, on the second day the hot water heater went out and, due to the Christmas holiday, was unable to be fixed until 2 days later. While I am empathetic to the fact that it was a holiday (I know Ana tried very hard to get a plumber), she should have done the right thing and refunded at least two nights of our stay as this is a very expensive property to rent. We had to leave the property to shower and we had to heat water on the stove to wash dishes! While the owner did indicate that we could "leave" - she never offered to pay for our hotel rooms (which would have been more than what we were paying per night) or fully refund our stay if we did choose to leave. Adding to the overall problem was that we had a significant amount of money invested in groceries (moving to a hotel means no kitchen, no dining room and no place to gather) and moving my 92-year-old Grandmother was not a great option. Sadly, this was a potential great experience made worse by the owner choosing not to step-up and "do the right thing" by issuing a refund for the two days we were without water. I will be filing a complaint with vrbo within the next 48 hours.

Owner's Response: It is truly sad to witness what some people would state or do just to get some money. Our first negative review after over 120 guest stays! The truth is this guest waited 16 hours after the tankless/endless hot water system suddenly became non-responsive (for the first time in 5 years) before she informed us of the problem. By that time it was mid-day on Saturday and also Christmas Eve. Nevertheless we immediately responded and managed to find a plumber who could not fix the problem without further help until Monday morning. Anxious to help our guests as much as humanly possible, we immediately contracted another plumber who promised to fix the problem very early Monday due to the late request on Christmas Eve and Christmas being the next morning. REGARDLESS OF THE PROBLEM AND CHRISTMAS TIME LIMITATION, THE TRUTH IS: THIS GUEST'S PARENTS WERE CONTACTED IMMEDIATELY AND OFFERED THE OPTION OF USING ANY OF THE 4 BATHROOMS IN OUR PRIVATE RESIDENCE AT THEIR LEISURE (ONLY 2 MINUTES AWAY) VERSUS LEAVING SAME DAY WITH A FULL REFUND . THEY REFUSED THE REFUND AND CHOSE TO STAY STATING : "WE ARE DRIVING OUT OF TOWN RIGHT NOW AND UPON RETURN WILL SHOWER AT OUR SON'S HOME UNTIL THE HOT WATER ISSUE IS FIXED" (THEIR SON LIVES ONLY 3 BLOCKS AWAY). We have done everything humanly possible to remedy an unexpected issue that had never happened before and could happen to anybody's private home, starting with immediate responsiveness , offering the refund, finding a second plumber who fixed the problem ASAP considering the Christmas weekend and lastly paying back fair compensation based on the guests' own choice to stay in a luxurious comfortable home while using their son's home for showering until valve was replaced. We are not sure what more anybody could have done to accommodate these guests beyond what we have done for them including generously allowing them much earlier than normal check-in time as a courtesy two days before they reported a hot water issue.

Great location! Great house! This gem of a house is in a perfect location....close enough to Uber to the quarter, but within walking distance of great restaurants and shops. We will never stay anywhere but Uptown again...and hopefully in this house the next time we are in NOLA. The owners are very easy to work with and very responsive. The house is perfect for 3 couples. We each had our own bedroom and bath...that was huge! Kitchen is well appointed and backyard porch perfect for morning coffee and afternoon cocktails. Very safe neighborhood. Highly recommend!
