Me & my best friend stayed here for Memorial Day weekend. All though the condo was very nice it was small. The largest thing was the 43 foot hallway from the door to the living room. Yes we counted the squares because we have never seen a hallway that long in a condo lol. I wouldn't recommend more then 3 people staying her only because the couch only sits 3 so others would have to sit at the dining table. I didn't go down on the beach because of how packed it was I think a lot of this had something to do with it being a holiday & because it was close to the boardwalk & public parking. That's ok though I didn't have to because the view from the living room & balcony was amazing! Friday (it's usually Thursday) they shot off fireworks Right in front of the condo which where beautiful. Being beside the boardwalk & walking distance to restaurants & shopping was a plus because I never moved my car until it was time to go home. The pool was still cold but nice also. The main problem was the noise from below on the street side. In The first bedroom you could here everything to the point where it sounded like they were standing at your window. I would recommend that put thicker glass or something to make it better. Over all out stay was Great.
Physically, this was a great unit. It was clean and very well maintained. Of course I can overstate how wonderful the beach was...fabulous. It is located very close to the Carolina Beach Boardwalk which was wonderful to take walks through and interact with other vacationers as well as locals, eat ice cream and doughnuts (Bricks Donuts is a must). It was also within walking distance of some great local restaurants (e.g. The Landing) and boat rental services. However, we had one major issue with the noise from the street and "party boat" docked nearby in the inlet. My 8 year old just could not sleep in the guest room which was on the street side of the condo. My husband also tried to sleep in the room and couldn't. This was by far the biggest drawback. Because of this, I would not recommed the condo for families with young children or for vactioners who are bothered by noise or are light sleepers.
Accurately described, great location, great views, well kept and equipped. And...very pleasant owner to work with regarding administrative matters. I would recommend this walkable, friendly and oceanfront unit to anyone looking to vacation in the area. My 3 days flew! Would have loved another day!
The location is ideal...during the week. During the weekend, the street noise in combination with the large street side window was difficult for my kids to sleep through (both very sound sleepers). Other units in the building rented for less $, plus we've recently learned that rates for this unit have been reduced. Clearly we feel we overpaid. In the vein of price paid, we expected the accomodations to be more plush; some sheets didn't fit the bed, we had two fitted and no flat sheets for one bed, the pillows were marginal, towels and wash clothes were thin and frayed. On the plus side, the view can't be beat, the washer and dryer proved incredibly convenient, the locked gates were an added bonus and overall the unit was 'clean' though not 'fresh.'
My wife and I spent a few days at this condo in April 2012 and really enjoyed our time there. The condo sits in the middle of the Wrightsville/Carolina/Kure beach areas, with easy access to many beach locations and Wilmington attractions. The building sits just off main roads for easy access, but is removed from heavy traffic. The condo is on the fourth (top) floor of the building and has an unobstructed view of the beach and ocean. We saw a few ships and many dolphins, and my wife loved sitting on the balcony, listening to the ocean sounds and watching children play on the beach. Walking on the beach was simple, easy, close, comfortable, and wonderful.
The property was as advertised, and everything listed works. The marina, boardwalk, and beach truly are "steps away". The elevator and hotel-style luggage carts made it easy to come and go, satelite TVs are conveniently located, and the private washer/dryer was a benefit. The condo office had enough maps and brochures to help us figure out how to get around and plan activities. I did not see the grill mentioned.
The owner was very easy to communicate with, also pleasant and accomdating.
The covered parking area might not accomodate all guests/residents if the building is full, but you can still load/unload under cover, and the overflow is across a small, not-very-busy road. The condo is modest, with small rooms, but comfortable, There is a club near the building that had live music Friday night that we could hear from the second bedroom until we shut the door to the room.
This was our first stay in Wilmington and I consider our experience to be well worth the money spent.
