Michael's house is a really lovely home, the photos don't really do it justice as everything is very high end and it has been recently completely remodelled. You have 2 roof terraces and a balcony to relax on and all the bedrooms are en suite (2 rear bedrooms share a bathroom). its 3 minute walk to Venice Beach and a 30 second walk to the canals. If you have really young children (ours are 2 and 3) then this house might be a bit too nice for them as well as have 2 wide stairs that wont fit a stairgate ! Parking is a challenge as there is on street parking but spots are rare, I parked up around the canals themselves as there was usually space there and then it was a 5 minute walk to the house. (negotiate with Michael beforehand that you can park outside the garage ! he is pretty amenable to that !)Michael is a responsive host and very helpful with everything, if he is in town he lives in an apartment beneath the main house and so is onsite to deal with anything (thanks for the toaster). A lovely place in a great position.
Home is very clean and equipped with everything you need for a great stay. Michael is very helpful and a quick phone call away as well. The home is a short walk from the beach and close to some good dining options. Parking in the area can be a challenge and the street where the 2 back bedrooms are located can be a little noisy. We stayed during the Rose Bowl and only minor complaint was no ESPN on the cable. Give it a try as it's a beautiful place with so many places just a short drive away.
We stayed in the house for a month as part of our USA trip. Being a young family with two boys the house met all our needs.
Location: litterally 3 minutes easy walk to the beach. On your way to the beach you see bars, restaurants, coffee shops, surf shops, convenience stores, beauty salon, florist.... Just perfect. And all of the kind that are so much better then the ones in downtown/boardwalk Venice.
Also just 1 minute to famous canals, great for an evening walk.
The fabulous Abbot Kinney is a 15 minute walk, or: Uber. For a few dollars Uber takes you everywhere, we used it all the time.
Large supermarkets, CVS etc are close too. Finally driving to other locations is easy as Washington/venice/Lincoln Blvds are very close.
The only con about the location: traffic noise. The back of the house is most affected (with two bedrooms). But ine may expect this anywhere in Venice/Santa Monica. It was OK for us.
The house itself is large, extremely well finished/built and very important to us: super clean.
Good to mention that it has 2 bedrooms. The extra third room was perfect for our youngest who sleeps in a travel cot.
But there's no extra bed in there.
It has all the tools and items you need for a long stay. The many terraces ensire you always have a place in either shade or sun.
Although we did miss outdoor dining table/chairs...
Owner Michael ismperhaps the best 'feature'. He's there immediatly when needed, responds direct to questions etc. He goed way beyond what may be expected. He made our stay extra special.
We have nothing but praise for this house. It's not cheap, but if you have the money then this is the place to stay in Venice.
Really enjoyed this house. Nice property owned by Michael who showed us the house and offered assistance anytime
Great location. Two blocks to Cows End coffee and Hinano(the best local bar with great breakfast burritos and burgers). Block from the boardwalk. On quiet street. Six blocks to James Beach restaurant. Half mile to Abbott Kinney.
We stayed in a canal house last time but really liked this place better.
My friends and I rented this gorgeous home for 5 nights while we were in town for the Rose Bowl. In addition to being beautiful, comfortable and very clean, it is just a couple of blocks to the beach, is within walking distance of numerous restaurants and shops, and is convenient for exploring LA and the surrounding area. The owner could not have been more welcoming or accommodating. Parking was never a problem and we felt safe walking around the neighborhood at night. While it looks great in the photos, it is even more amazing in person.
We enjoyed our stay in this house very much. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. Michael is very kind and responsive. However parking was difficult and there were ants in the upstairs bedrooms which the owner did spray for, but it was only effective for a short time. He mentioned that he needed to treat the ground outside the house. If he does that it will probably eliminate the problem.
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely house . It's way better than the photos I think the owner should hire a better photographer.. House is clean and in well condition . The kitchen is huge with lovely sunlight , well decorated and big space for family , the patio is a bonus , we have our breakfast there every morning . The rooms are big and beds comfortable . The master room is the best, very cosy . The other two are bit noisy since they are near the main road . And you need to bring your own bathroom amenities.
This house is the next street of the busy beach area so only 3 min of walk to the beach where there are many restaurants and cafe . Shopping area is also near just 5 min of driving .
Michael is very helpful , he prepared beach towels for us every morning . Too bad we did not have a chance to swim in the beach .
Street parking is difficult so if you have guests who wil drive to visit you , they will need to park quite far away .
I am happy with the stay and will recommend to family visitors who is looking for a week near the beach .
