A gem....clean, space well used and great location
We had three couples stay at Hideaway for three nights and it was perfect. The upstairs kitchen/ living area is a great atmosphere. The covered porch and lounge area outside is comfy and stylish. The house is in a great location - close to everything. The house manager is very responsive and daily maid service was really nice / pleasant. They have thought of all needs and provided. We will come back to the Hideaway!!
Fantastic property on a fantastic island
The Hideaway is a beautiful house which cleverly uses space to make it feel incredibly roomy. We are a family of five and the house never felt cramped. It has a beautiful swimming pool and all mod cons (air-conditioning, wifi, BBQ and an excellent kitchen).
The house is a three minute walk away from the main Pink Sands beach which is mostly deserted. The beach further up the coast has a few hotels and main bars. Everything on the island is a small drive away by means of the golf buggies used as transport. Be aware, that this island is not cheap- whether due to all items being imported from the mainland or due to catering to the wealthier island guests, you'll need to splash the cash. Overall it's still worth it though.
We mentioned one minor issue to the owner and she immediately got in touch and bent over backwards to resolve it. All communications with her have been amazing. I'd definitely recommend staying here. Thank you!
Charming Property - Beautiful Decor & Great Location
Best home we have rented in Harbour Island among many! The home is beautiful yet very comfortable. The kitchen is well outfitted. Catherine is so easy to work with - very responsive. No need to look any further - rent the Hideaway. Location is ideal!
A great place, perfect location in town, short walk to Valentines, coffee shop and restaurants.
Great plunge pool and multiple deck areas. Quaint and nice 3 bedroom place. I'd stay there again when going to harbour Island.
The perfect house for relaxing!!
This was my family's first trip to the Bahamas and I'm glad it was to Harbour Island. This house was perfect and Catherine was so kind and helpful before we arrived with answering all my questions and giving her suggestions. Harrison met us at the dock when we arrived and had our golf cart ready for us. He showed us around the house and got us acquainted with it. The house was perfect for our family of 5. My son loved taking a dip in the pool after hanging out at the beach. We had dinner prepared for us by Thomassa the day we arrived. It was delicious and a perfect start to our vacation. The conch chowder, baked lobster, mashed potatoes, and cheesecake were absolutely wonderful. We booked a snorkel trip with True Blue Charters out of Spanish Wells and Captain Paul and Captain Todd were the best. They picked us up at the dock right behind the Hideaway. All we had to do was walk down the side road and meet the boat. The kids got to cliff jump, we saw the pigs, sand dollar bar, and snorkeled. We ate lunch on the beach prepared by Paul's wife. The lobster dip and fruit salad were big hits.
We felt so relaxed on the pink sand beach (literally 2 minutes drive)and didn't want to leave. This is top on our list for the most beautiful beach we've been to. All in all, this charming, quaint little island has been one of our favorite vacations and we can't wait to come back and stay at Catherine's Hideaway!
We had a wonderful experience! House manager was there immediately for any questions we had. Every room was perfectly comfortable and house had everything you could need for a wonderful vacation including private pool. Dock is not quite as easily accessible as it looks in the pics (but i would not even have noticed if I didn't already have a sprained ankle). We will absolutely be back!!!!
Rated as one of the 'Best Bahamas Beaches' by the likes of Fodor's, Frommers and The Travel Channel, Harbour Island Bahamas is famous for its three and a half miles of hard packed picture perfect pink sand beaches. Warm clear ocean waters provide excellent diving, fishing and boating while outlying reefs provide safe swimming and snorkeling. The people are friendly and the island is easy to navigate. Golf carts, the transportation of choice, make touring the island both fun and relaxing. The sand is truly pink, the water is truly aquamarine, and there are so few people around that it feels like yours alone. Condé Nast.
