About Libby Dorough
We are a busy family of 5 from Virginia Beach. Our kids are ages 11, 13, and 15 and it seems like we're always going in all directions at 100 miles an hour. Whenever we come to Carova, we regroup as a family and enjoy together all that this area has to offer. Truly 'back to nature'!
Libby Dorough purchased this House in 2012
Why Libby Dorough chose Fruitville
After visiting Carova in 2010 on a jeep tour, we fell in love with the area and knew immediately this was the place for us. We decided to build a house for a family to get away from it all, with or without guests. We wanted to be near the beach and have our kids enjoy the idyllic summers and holidays we remember from our childhood.
What makes this House unique
We chose this location to build because it's close to the fire station (fun for kids to go buy ice cream, drinks, and to see the firetrucks!) the hub of Carova Beach. Although third row from the ocean, we have great ocean views and can walk easily to the beach if we decide not to take the car!

Great location and amazing house
This house was clean and big enough for the 7 of us. It had everything you needed. Just remember to bring extra water since you can't drink it up in that area. It was in a good location near the firehouse and walkable to the beach. We saw horses several times throughout the day. It was beautiful. Can't wait to go back.
Great location! Clean and very well maintained!
My family and I had a wonderful time staying at the Sea Glass Cottage! Unique beach experience!!!
Beautiful home and wonderful family vacation! We cant wait to come back!
What a truly unique and quite place. Beautiful views and a nice clean home. From day one when we were looking for a family vacation spot, Libby was very helpful and gave us prompt attention when contacting her about availability. We never dreamed what we would finally take away as one of our most favorite family beach vacations! We can not wait to book another trip in this fabulous home in the OBX!
Sea Glass Cottage
Sea Glass Cottage is absolutely beautiful! My sister and I just spent eight glorious days in this lovely home. It is beautifully appointed and comfortable. The furnishings are lovely and it is decorated nicely. The view from the main deck is that of the dunes, the moors, and the ocean. You can hear the surf at night through your open bedroom windows and be lulled to sleep. The pool was a true highlight for us. Everyday was spent with long beach walks and then lounging and swimming all day. The extra bonus was the wild horses who paid us a daily visit! They for some reason love this place as much as we do! Watching them graze in the yard was incredible. They at times stayed for hours. It is an experience I will never forget. We have already decided that we will be going back to Sea Glass Cottage next year. Thank you Libby for a beautiful vacation.
Beautiful and very clean!
We had a great time at the cottage! Beautiful views of the ocean and so nice waking up to wild horses in our yard. We look forward to coming back!
we couldn't have been happier with our stay at Sea Glass Cottage !! Each room had it's own private deck to enjoy, wild horses roamed right through our yard and it was just a very short walk to the ocean. From the very start the owner was a joy to deal with, always answering e-mails promptly and quickly refunded our security deposit. I would HIGHLY recommend to friends and we hope to return again some day soon.
This is a place to get away from it all and relax. Tour the 4-wheel drive area on your doorstep and re-discover nature. Most visitors to the OBX pay to see the wild horses. Here they'll be on your doorstep, grazing in your back yard! Rent a kayak or canoe and go out on the sound, or fish from the beach. Try your hand at para-gliding, or take a surf or stand-up paddleboard lesson. Go hiking through the unspoilt False Cape State Park. Or just enjoy relaxing and tailgating on the beach! If you fancy a change, drive 30 minutes down the beach and you are in Corolla, with its shops, restaurants, activities and entertainment.Corolla is known for the Currituck Lighthouse, surrounded by the quaint shops of the old town. The historic Whalehead Club is open for tours and next to it the Wildlife nature center; both offering a glimpse into the history of the area and the beauty of it's natural resources. Along Route 12 going south are several shopping areas, mini-golf, go karts, and grocery stores connecting Corolla with the up-market town of Duck (45 min drive). Head further south through bustling Kitty Hawk and Nags Head and arrive at the Wright Brothers National Memorial and Jockey's Ridge state park, the largest natural sand dune on the east coast. At day's end, return home to the quiet beauty and peaceful surrounds of your home away from home, Sea Glass Cottage.
