This cozy downtown space is a perfect budget option for your travels to Mt. Shasta. Featuring 2 bedrooms with 100% cotton sheets and one bathroom with a new shower that was just installed this October (2015), you will feel totally comfortable and at home here. It is one of those places that just feels good.
The unit is the downstairs half of a 2 story Bungalow. We also offer the top floor as a separate unit or both floors as the whole house. You will share BBQ, yard, and parking access with the guests of the top floor, if there are any.
Please be aware that you will be able to hear noise from above if there are guests up there.
When you first enter the space, you will find a cozy, inviting living room complete with a comfortable seating area and small dining table. The flat screen TV features Direct TV, but is not a Smart TV.
Feeling hungry? You can walk to multiple restaurants within 5 minutes or you can stay in and use the kitchenette to prepare a meal. We have a fridge and freezer, microwave, toaster oven, and hot water kettle with Starbucks Via coffee for your enjoyment. Please note there is no stove. There is, however, a gas BBQ outside.
As I mentioned earlier, the newly remodeled bathroom has a beautiful brand new tile shower. A wall-mounted pump provides sulfate-free shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel.
If you are traveling with kids, they will love the play room that is outfitted with games, puzzles, pillows and funky zebra-print bean bags.
Take a 3 minute walk to the most happening coffee shop in town, Seven Suns, or walk 5 minutes the other way to your morning yoga class. Just across the street is the Mount Shasta Pastry shop and a few doors down is the bustling health food store, Berryvale. At the Alpenglow Bungalow, you are in the center of it all.
After you finish exploring the town on foot, you can continue the adventure by bike or car. Lake Siskiyou, Castle Lake, The Old Ski Bowl (7800'), and plenty of hiking, biking, paddling, golfing, swimming, climbing, fishing, and skiing options are all minutes away.
There is something here for everyone, whether it's a multi-day mountaineering expedition to the summit of 14,179' Mt. Shasta or a leisurely stroll to feed the rainbow trout in the Mt Shasta Fish Hatchery or something in between! Let me know what you want to do and I'll point you in the right direction, and maybe even let you in on some local secret spots. ;)
