Perfect Beach house for our Family of 4. Wonderful owner

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our family of four, but could be comfortable for up to 8 people if you have a few young kids. A beautiful, uncrowded beach is a short walk away. There is a well stocked kitchen, great indoor and outdoor seating and a comfortable living space. It is a short walk to the Waves Market, great fresh seafood and the Dollar General for forgotten supplies. There is little reason to use a car once you are here which just makes for a great relaxing beach week. Our kids especially enjoyed having campfires on the beach and watching the Ghost Crabs every night. When you do hop in the car it's a short drive to the Salvo Day Use Area (which is great), good restaurants and the Blue Whale market. The owner, Chris, was immensely helpful as a resource of information for the area and our trip. But more than that, he worked with us a lot as we were scheduled to arrive and could not access Hatteras Island because of the Blackout. We can't really say enough good things about this house and Chris. Thanks for being a great host!

We had a great time on our trip. Just two of us, the house had everything we needed .

Very quiet - the home is located on a private non thru street so there is not allot of traffic.

Shade trees on the side of house and comfy chairs allowed us to get off the beach and chill in the hottest part of the day.

A short walk down the road to the beach entrance through a magical arbor of trees adorned with sea shells is the path to the expanse of the open beach front. Long walks, fine surf and the white sands did not disappoint.

We will be back next year.

Before the blackout of 2017

The beach was wonderful :). My kids had a blast watching the crabs peek out of the sand and searching for frogs on the windows at night.

What a great place and great location!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed the location of this beach house! It was so close to the beach! (An easy 5 min walk) Warning, the dunes are a killer in the hot sun. Wear sandals! The outdoor shower was the best to keep the sand out of the house and the picnic table and patio chairs were used often as well as the grill. Buy your groceries on the way as there isn't much more than canned goods and basic things like sandwhich meat etc at the stores around. The sunsets on the sound side were absolutely beautiful. Grab yourself a DQ and walk over to the shoreline to enjoy an amazing sight. We loved the lighthouses, especially climbing Cape Hatteras lighthouse. We enjoyed the outdoor play called The Lost Colony in Roanoke immensely! They did a great job! Stop at the Wilbur and Orville Wright National Monument in Kitty Hawk on your way to the Beach House! Chris was extremely responsive to our every need and answered our inquiries right away with good information. Thank you Chris for a great vacation!

Great Location, Perfect Size

  • 4 of 5

It was great to find a reasonably sized rental for one family so close to the beach - most other rentals in the area were monster-sized. We found it exactly as described, with easy access. The house was on a quiet street a short walk from a wonderful ocean-side beach. The "day use" sound-side beach was a very short drive away, and we even found completely empty sound-side beaches a little further away. Sound swimming was great for our young kids: gentle waves, warm water, and no more than chest-deep for as far as we could walk. Chris gave us great suggestions about ghost-crabbing on the ocean side which our kids are still talking about. He was also very helpful and always willing to answer our questions, thanks Chris. There were plenty of good restaurants nearby (loved Atlantic Coast Cafe). So glad we decided to go a little further south away from the crazy crowds so that our first trip to the Outer Banks was really enjoyable. Would recommend this house, especially for families!

A Salvo Gem!! Great vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful vacation! Chris was wonderful to work with! He went above and beyond to make sure this was a great vacation!! The home is clean, comfortable and cozy! The kitchen is very well equipped and having a washer and dryer right there was fantastic!! We enjoyed the outdoor shower, and the clothes lines to hang bathing suits and/or towels!! It is a short walk to the beach, and short drive to the sound! The home is in a very convenient location of town! We will definitely be back!!!! Thank you again for sharing your home with us-we made wonderful memories!!
