About William

I've lived on Capitol Hill since 1990 and still it's my favorite Seattle neighborhood! I'm happy to help you find your way around the city or direct you to some of my favorite sites and restaurants, please feel free to call with any questions about booking

William purchased this apartment in 1995

Why William chose Seattle

Capitol Hill is a gorgeous historic neighborhood, with beautiful homes and gardens, and super convenient to all the things I love about Seattle! It's quiet and peaceful yet everything you need is close and easy to get to--if you like to walk and see the real character and street life of a city this is a perfect place to stay. The building is charming, with unique architectural details and character, the apartments are super comfortable and a quiet retreat for relaxing at the end of your day. A great base for exploring the city of Seattle and the Pacific Northwest!

What makes this apartment unique

Ideal location in a great walkable neighborhood, close to excellent markets (e.g., Trader Joe's, Central Co-op), a great variety of restaurants, coffee shops, taverns & nightclubs, all surrounded by historic mansions, lovely gardens and unusual architecture. From here it's easy to get to most of the major tourist attractions (Pike Place Market, Space Needle, Houseboats, ferries, etc). Be sure to visit Volunteer Park, the Olmstead-designed crown jewel of Seattle Park System and home of the Seattle Asian Art Museum, a lovely Plant Conservatory, and at that top of the water tower the most amazing 180 degree view in the city!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We only wish we could have spent more time in the apartment! From the moment we walked in, everything was at our fingertips, every room was clean and comfortable. Location is great--away from all the commotion but still convenient to get all places. Will definitely recommend to friends & family! Thank you!

Cute house great location

  • 4 of 5

The house is comfortable and located in a great neighborhood. We hare overall very happy with our stay there. The beds are comfortable and the layout is great for two couples traveling. The owner was super responsive with all of the check in information and was gracious enough to let us check in early. I would certainly recommend this house based on its value and location!

Few things to note: 1) This is an old house so you can hear a lot of creaking from the floor boards upstairs and the rest of the apartment 2) The blinds are not the greatest so if you are visiting in the months where the sunrise is in the early hours you may get woken up 3) There are no full length mirrors in the apartment

Charming updated apartment

  • 5 of 5

This property has charm but the advantage of updated kitchen and bathroom. In a quiet neighborhood but easy access to freeway. Everything was very clean. Washer and dryer are in one of the bedrooms but look nearly new and worked well, without excessive noise. We will stay here again when we next visit Seattle.

Great location for Seattle U and if like a walking to the Market as much as we do!

  • 4 of 5

The main floor apartment was very nice -- bright, light, clean. It was a good value, and for our needs, perfectly located. We could walk to campus, to my workout studio (Barre 3), coffee shops. We love to walk, so we were not intimidated by the walk to/from Market. We will definitely try to stay here again, but may choose level 2 or 3 to see something different and not hear the people above.

Seattle Wedding Memorial Day Weekend

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful & lovely stay we had at the Seattle Turret House. It was the perfect amount of room for the 4 of us. It's such a lovely Victorian house - but with the character - the wood floors are really quite creaky in spots - so we apologize if we made too much noise walking around at night. We were all in love with the greenery surrounding the house (all the dogwoods in bloom - amazing). Wish we had time to cook as the kitchen was very nicely appointed. The property was really nice & clean & really well maintained. The location was perfect as well. The fact we could walk to Stumptown for coffee sold me instantly. The Co-op Market also walking distance was a great find. Make sure you stop at Mighty Donuts too! It was nice to be so centrally located. We could access downtown, Pike Place Market, the International district, West Seattle etc in about 10-15 min. It was also nice to have off street parking w/out having to worry about moving the car. The light rail stop - was quite easy to manage too. There is nothing bad to say about the property. We walked around when we could & drove when we needed to. We were really amazed at the skills the city drivers had navigating those narrow streets. There was plenty of construction going on around the house - but really didn't notice much of the noise. Would love to come back for another stay. Actually would love to come back & rent the entire house for an event sometime. That would really be amazing.

Thanks for such a lovely stay!!

Spotless, comfortable, conveniently located

  • 5 of 5

We stayed over a long weekend -- 4 adults and one infant. The apartment was roomy and spotless. The kitchen was well appointed for a weekend stay. The larger bedroom was quite large and accommodated a full size folding crib. The bed in that particular room was large, but the mattress was not as firm as we would have liked. The smaller bedroom was adequate and the bed quite comfortable. We strongly recommend taking a parking spot if you have a car. We did and were quite grateful. Parking is really challenging in that neighborhood. The location was great - an easy walk to shops and restaurants, but just far enough away to be peaceful and quiet. Our host was very responsive. We will definitely return.

Quiet, convenient neighborhood, short walk to a great variety of shops, cafes & restaurants. Trader Joe's Grocery is 2 blocks away, as well as Central Co-op, a great natural foods market. One block to city bus line, 20 minute walk to downtown Seattle. Centrally located and very easy to get around without a vehicle.
