About The Owner

Your host, Cheryl and Tony grew up in nearby communities along this rugged shoreline. Cheryl was from Bald Rock a 25 minute walk from Harbour’s Reach. Tony grew up in Bear Cove a 5 minute drive closer to the city.

We live only 10 minutes away in Herring Cove but definitely don’t have the water views that Harbour’s Reach offers.

The Owner purchased this house in 2011

Why The Owner chose Nova Scotia

Tony has wanted to buy a rental for quite some time but I was hesitant. When this property came available it didn’t take any convincing, so we embarked on a new adventure.

What makes this house unique

Having coffee on the deck and looking out at the beautiful view.

Amazing home that far surpassed our expectations

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five stayed for three nights, but we quickly regretted that we didn't book the entire week! Cheryl and Tony were so welcoming. Cheryl promptly directed us to the rental, gave us a tour of the home and helpful tips, and even sent us links to various activities and things to do. The home is beautifully furnished and had everything we needed and more. The location is simply perfect, you won't have to drive far to find many things to see and do. The view from the newly built deck is fantastic and a wonderful way to begin and end each day. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and would love to return and stay longer!

Great place for a family

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Harbour's Reach for a week in April 2017. Although April might not have the best weather for a visit, the house is at a great location overlooking the harbour, is comfortable and spacious enough for a family of four. The home is nicely decorated and equipped with everything one would need for an extended stay, from kitchen essentials to a washer/dryer.

Although we were in town to visit family, we took advantage of the beautiful surroundings and easy access to hiking trails, beaches and city of Halifax.

All around a wonderful trip!

Owner's Response: We're pleased you enjoyed your stay here, and had a safe trip home. Yes our spring can be wet, and be outright chilly. we have turned the corner with a few t-shirt days this week.

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 1 week in early September and couldn't have been happier with out stay. The cottage had a spectacular view, great character, and everything on the inside was updated and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was fully stocked with quality cooking equipment and the whole cottage was spotlessly clean. The cottage is a great retreat with quiet seaside living and easy access to many of the sights including Halifax (40 minutes), Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Peggy's Cove. The gorgeous Crescent Beach is less than 10 minutes away, and there are many beautiful hikes right in the area. Tony and Cheryl personally welcomed us and told us about our favorite hike, Duncan's Cove, which starts just down the road. This is an absolutely beautiful rugged coastal hike where we saw loads of seals, old WW2 stations and we walked to the Chebucto Head light house from here which has a panaramic view stretching to the Halifax Harbour. We also frequented Pavia Cafe (a short drive away), which has excellent expresso imported from Italy and food made from scratch. We loved our stay at Harbour's Reach. We have many photos of the view taken from our deck and we hope to be back.

Owner's Response: So happy to hear you enjoyed your stay here on the coast. You certainly made the most of your visit, exploring all the areas we spoke about. You had some amazing weather while you were here, which we are still enjoying. Certainly hope you can make a return visit sometime. Tony/Cheryl Harbours Reach

We loved staying at Harbour's Reach! Wonderfully stocked with all we needed! Beautiful view from the front porch! And so close to Ice Cream Tuesday and crab catching across the road! Our grandsons loved that evening! So much fun! Loved Peggy's Cove, Lunenburg and Crystal Crescent Beach! And our lobster dinners - best we've ever had! Thanks Cheryl and Tony for making our Ketch Harbour stay very comfortable and special! 😊
