About Jane Sutton
Alan and Jane were both born in England and have worked and lived in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and mainly the US. Based in the US since 1981, our daughter was born here and Pinehurst has been a big part of our lives since we bought the house in 1997.
Jane Sutton purchased this House in 1997
Why Jane Sutton chose Aberdeen
We first discovered the magic of Pinehurst in 1992 on a golfing trip and returned full-time to work in the area in 1997. We fell for the quaint village, its calm, refined charm, and the unbelievable golf opportunities. We found our perfect spot on Lake Pinehurst, and knew immediately that this would be our very own piece of Pinehurst.
What makes this House unique
Lake Pinehurst has a magical character that captivates. The house has huge windows on both floors looking out onto the lake. Facing west with its extensive outdoor decks, there is no better place to enjoy the beautiful sunset and the evening calm looking out over the water. A perfect end to a day of golf. Access to more high quality golf courses than anyone can reasonably need to play! 40+ in all in the greater Pinehurst area. Pinehurst #2 has three times hosted the US Open and Pine Needles many times the Women's US Open. In 2014 Pinehurst #2 was the first ever course to play host to both Opens in consecutive weeks. For golfers, Pinehurst offers the full spectrum of courses at a full range of prices.

This home is light and airy with a stunning view of the lake. The layout was great for a large group with plenty of gathering spaces and plenty of privacy as well. Everything was very clean and exceptionally well organized. We all enjoyed access to the kayaks and just sitting outside watching the sun set. The owners were very responsive and helpful and easy to get in touch in with. We had several adults and several teens in our group and everyone was in love with the house. We plan on staying again!

What more could a family asked for? The house was beautiful on the outside, but when I walked into the foyer, I was speechless. The view of the lake was awesome. The house was so spacious and clean. The playroom was my family's favorite hangout, so many games to play. The lake was so much fun. The owners provided so many toys and kayaks. I have stayed in several VRBO homes before and by far, this was the best. The house was well equipped. The owners were so nice and wanted our stay to be enjoyed. I definitely would rent this house again.
The property was amazing! It was impeccably kept with wonderful amenities. There was something for every family member to enjoy (from 8 to 70 years). But more importantly, the owners were extremely helpful. They answered every question and made sure we had everything we needed. They even shipped back a beloved teddy bear that got left behind. I highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay in Pinehurst. It's close to activities, but a world away at the same time.
Immaculate Home with Stunning Lake View
This lake front property was exceptional in every way! It was beautifully appointed and extremely well equipped. We stayed for 4 nights celebrating a milestone birthday while enjoying family. Beyond the wonderful golf in Pinehurst this home had entertainment for all ages from an extraordinary upper level game room to kayaks and a pontoon boat. The bedrooms were large and the living areas spacious. We loved using the outdoor grill and dining on the wonderful decks. The owners were quickly responsive to questions and assured through email and notes that all of our needs were met. We will look forward to returning and I would highly recommend this property to any group or family looking for a relaxing Pinehurst experience!
Fantastic home, terrific location
Can't say enough good things about this home and the owners. Our golfing family of four (two parents, two teenagers) stayed here for a week in July 2016 and absolutely loved it. The owners were so helpful with getting tee times on the resort courses and recommending others in the area (gotta check out Tobacco Road for the novelty if nothing else!) as well as restaurants (Ironwood was awesome!). We rented a stand up paddle board from Sandhill SUP (great outfit!) and used it along with the kayaks available at the house. Our daughter caught a big ol' largemouth off the dock! The house was so well kept and the game room/bar upstairs must be seen to be believed. Made for a truly special family vacation!
Amazing Home, Close To Everything, Great Place for Golfers
Had a group of 8 golfers celebrating a birthday. We stayed for 4 nights and couldn't have been more impressed with the place right from the get-go. We spent many evenings having some cocktails and settling some last bets on the ping pong table. The whole upstairs was a wonderful treat. And a great big dining room table to discuss the shots, and missed shots of the day. I highly recommend this house for a rental, it was wonderful. Also had no problem booking #8 and we took care of the rest. Was nice to sit out on some large patios after we had endured back home such a long winter.
The village of Pinehurst has served for over 100 years as a leisure resort with calm, sunny weather and year-round golfing opportunities on the 40+ courses in and around Pinehurst including the world-renowned Pinehurst #2 course, home to the US Open in 1999, 2005 and also 2014 when it hosted both the Men's and Women's US Open. The house is located on Lake Pinehurst, the source of irrigation for the main Pinehurst Country Club courses and offers boating, kayaking, fishing and swimming opportunities.
