Location

McClellanville is rural escape bounded by over 250,000 acres of National Forest (Francis Marion) and 22 miles of protected coastline (Cape Romain Wildife Refuge) as well as many private land trusts.

Most of our visitors come to enjoy world class fishing (red fish, AKA spot tail bass, trout, flounder, tarpon, and more), kayaking, or boating in the refuge. The beach has no roads and can only be accessed by boat but is a wonder unto itself once there. The refuge is great for bird watching and shelling as well.

The forest presents plenty of outdoor opportunities as well including horse back riding, hiking, biking and hunting (deer and turkey in season). With a population of 500, the town is a quiet Southern coastal village that time seems to have forgotten. The roads are lined with ancient live oaks draped in spanish moss and the creek is lined with Shrimp boats bringing in the freshest harvest.
