Bright, airy, comfortable great location
Our family of 6 really enjoyed our stay here. It's conveniently located not only to a variety of restaurants in Queens, but also to the Metro to get into Manhattan. It was easy to drive in and out, though we had some trouble finding parking. We ended up parking in a nearby garage.
The apartment was clean and comfortable. The kitchen/dining area is small, but had a good array of appliances. We appreciated the large folding table and chairs available to make plenty of space for us to have family meals and play games.
The host was very responsive, and when we had a problem with the door, he arrived promptly to help us out. Some minor maintenance issues, and it would be great to have more towel bars (and maybe a wider variety of cooking equipment, like an oven tray), but overall a nice stay--we would stay there again!
I loved this place! Exactly as described and great location to the city. Also walking distance to some of the best restaurants in Asotria. Would stay again and recommend.
Easy stay for a Manhattan trip
Communications with the owner and check-in/ check-out were easy and seemless. The place looks just like the photos. We had everything we needed. We'll stay here again next time we take a bite out of the Big Apple!
Large but poorly maintained
This place is a bit dirty. We stayed in Steffan’s place for three nights while attending a wedding in the area. As soon as we arrived we noticed that the building was very rundown. The downstairs neighbor had cardboard in their windows and an old Christmas sign on the door (it was Summer). The stairs up to the unit were very steep and rundown. The hallway was dark and the automatic light did not turn on until we were all the way up at the top the stairs. The unit clearly was nicely decorated at one time but now features dirty walls that need a paint job, paint chipping on the bathroom vanity, tape on the towel bar in the bathroom, and old and stained bed linens. In the master bedroom the bed was lumpy. When the sheets came up we discovered a disgusting stain on the mattress pad. The towels were old, pilled, and stained.
The internet stopped working on the second day we arrived and we had to reset it a few times. The most disgusting part of the whole thing was the furniture. The living room couches have been draped with blankets to prevent wear. However one of the overstuffed chairs was so dirty that the blanket covering it clearly didn’t hid the staining. The couch material was slick from caked in dirt.
This unit is very spacious and I would imagine it would actually make a nice vacation rental. However it is unclear whether the owner has maintained this property. The unit is not nearly as nice as it looks in photos. Even in New York, I would have expected more for this price point.
Perfect apartment in perfect location
There were five of us on this trip - two couples, one with their teenage daughter in tow. This apartment suited our needs perfectly.
The apartment was easy to find and we we're delighted to realize that it was on a quiet tree-lined street. As we entered, we were immediately pleased with how light, clean , and fresh smelling it was. The beds in all three bedrooms were very comfortable and two of the three bedrooms were actually quite spacious! A real pleasant surprise in a New York City Apartment. The kitchen, though small, was completely serviceable. It was a wonderful surprise for us to find that the downstairs residents use the backyard as a garden so we were able to look out the kitchen window on to this beautiful, lush, green garden space!
This apartment is in a fantastic location for travelers. The subway stop is only two short blocks away from the end of the block. There is a full-service grocery store and a Dunkin Donuts at the same location. On the way to the subway stop you pass a number of restaurants and convenience stores as well.
I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone traveling in a group of 6 or less. There is enough space to accommodate others if they don't mind sleeping on the couches. I would rent this apartment again without hesitation.
The property is true to form from review of the photos. The neighborhood is very diverse...the beauty of Astoria. The homerun for me and my crew (including 3 kids under 10) was how easily accessible the yellow line (N Q R W) was from the property to get into the heart of Manhattan in less than 10 minutes.
