About the property

Perfectly situated between the historic 1.5 mile Seaside prom and the family friendly vibrant downtown … this relaxful, clean, fresh and uniquely decorated space is making its debut for vacation rental availability … NOW!!!

The combination of cool colors, salvaged materials and custom furnishings adds an unexpected element of style while visiting the beauty and informality of the coast.

• The master bedroom’s queen size headboard is created out of salvaged barn wood.

• The double/twin bunk bed in the second bedroom is a vivid, colorful space that would make any civilian of any rank happy to bunk up in.

• You will be washed with inspiration in the bathroom. The vanity was custom built from salvaged doors, while the shower has a galvanized surround application. The combination of reclaimed and industrial makes for a swanky space.

This fully appointed kitchen with a farm sink and light fixtures from School House Electric will make any gastronomical feat a pleasure to prepare. The adjoining dining and living rooms create a cozy and relaxful space. Rainy day at the beach? Pull out the queen size hide-a-bed for a movie marathon!!

• Enjoy the openness and design of this efficient 850 sq ft uncluttered and peaceful property. The perfect atmosphere for your escape to the beach. In a block and a half you can either stroll north to the core of downtown (Broadway) or west and be confronted by the majestic Pacific Ocean.

• In only 79 miles from Portland or 135 miles from Seattle – you could spend the night here … at the beach.

About Michael Johnson

Our love & passion for the Oregon Coast is so deep we left the city lights & hum of the Emerald City (Seattle) for the beautiful sunsets & roar of the Pacific Ocean to raise our family. Native to the Pacific Northwest, we moved to the coast in 2005. Salmon fishing on the Columbia River is a family passion, teaching the kids to dig for razor clams, going for leisurely drives in our British roadsters on scenic Hwy 101 and impromptu picnic dinners on the beach is a way of life that only coastal living can provide.

Michael Johnson purchased this townhome in 2011

Why Michael Johnson chose Northern Coast

My family has been coming to Seaside since the turn of the century from Portland. Growing up - the month of August was spent at the coast. The salt air and mystic of the Pacific Ocean penetrated into my soul, as it has beckoned me to reside on the North Coast year long, raise our family and become a business owner in Astoria.

What makes this townhome unique

This space underwent a complete renovation. Each detail was deliberate to provide the guest with a sophisticated coastal experience. My business in architectural salvage & home furnishings allowed for custom elements from salvage materials – mixed with modern amenities to create a unique, trouble-free & appealing space for a romantic get-a-way or family vacation. The block and a half proximity to the pedestrian friendly downtown or the 1.5 mile historic promenade - make this location simply ideal.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We really enjoyed our stay here in Seaside. This is the 1st time we stayed here, usually only driving through.

We had 2 glorious, very hot, almost 90 degree days, so it was great. Our other 3 days were still good, just not a bright and sunny, typical coast day.

Your place was great, very nice and comfortable. Could have used a tea kettle for us tea drinkers. Otherwise, one of the best equipped place we have ever rented!

We'll likely be back this way.

Most incredible place for the money..

  • 5 of 5

If it were possible, I would give this place more than 5 stars. It was beyond clean. Well-VERY well equipped with any thing you could possible need as if you came with nothing. Very cozy. Very, VERY nicely redone so tastefully with a kind of "hybrid Shabby Chic" look...I guess you could call it, but perhaps more subdued, more peaceful than a true Shab.Chic. Location is awesome, indeed as stated, close to anything you come to Seaside to things on wheels...whatever, it's all a stones throw away. The neighbors on either side are also VERY one side, the gentleman gave us smoked salmon, just to be neighborly, and on the other side, the neighbor intervened as someone was trying to steal our bikes, while we were sleeping, that we had brought with us to ride. It was one of our best stays...perhaps THE best stay yet in Seaside. Thank-you Mr. and Mrs. Johnson!!

Our family of 6 stayed here over the Labor Day weekend. We could not have asked for a more welcoming and clean place to stay! It was perfectly located right down town, one block from the beach. The house was so clean-absolutely cleaner than any hotel or condo you could rent in Seaside. There were games and toys and buckets for the kids, all kitchen items you could need, and a serene master bedroom for us adults! I cannot wait to go back and stay here again next September. The weather was perfect, and Michael was accommodating, easy to work with, and very kind.

Perfect Vacation Retreat

  • 5 of 5

This is our second year staying at this property and we have absolutely nothing bad to say. Proximity is close to everything, the rooms are spacious and clean with a very homey touch, just as pictured. It is perfect for our family of four with two young children. Michael is great to work with and we look forward to return visits in the future.

Perfect Location, Perfect House, Perfect Everything

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful home is so perfectly appointed and well located that I had to stay twice in one year! First for Spring Break with my daughter and then for a Holiday getaway at Christmas for myself! It's obvious as soon as you walk in the door that this home has been designer decorated. Wonderful, unique pieces fill the home. It's walking distance to absolutely everywhere downtown, and even closer to the beach! Across the street is a wonderful coffee shop where you can grab a latte and hit the beach first thing in the morning. Comfortable linens and bed for the adults and a fun, "room-enough-to-play-in-their-own-room" bedroom that sleeps up to three children with games and puzzles to enjoy. There wasn't anything I couldn't find in the adorable kitchen and we even made a Christmas dinner there! Making arrangements to stay was easy with quick responses and information whenever needed. I'd recommend this to anyone at all (and so) and will definitely try and stay again!
