About the property

Villa, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

Suenos II is a new condominium community built in 2006 on a hill behind Tamarindo. It is a 5-7 minute walk to the village and beach. The community is beautifully landscaped with tropical plants indigenous to the region. A 24hr/day security guard oversees the compound. A swimming pool in the middle of the complex with an outdoor shower affords a great way to cool off after a day on the beach and surfing in the sea. The condos have Spanish architectural details such as wrought-iron balconies off the 2nd floor bedroom that faces the pool. French doors open onto the balcony from the bedroom. Air-conditioning in each bedroom assures a comfortable sleep. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with hot-water showers. Bathroom towels and linens are provided. Downstairs there is a kitchen with 4-burner stove/oven, fridge, microwave, toaster, and plenty of cupboard space for food. The open plan downstairs is light-filled and airy. Lounge on the couch while you watch some TV or your favorite DVD. Internet is provided.

If you like to jog or walk in the morning the complex is a one minute walk to a nature trail/dirt road which enters the rainforest and eventually forks up a hill. The short distance to the summit affords you a beautiful view of Tamarindo and the Pacific Ocean.

  • 4 of 5

Security on site, 24 /7 beautiful cleans and location to dwn town is a ten minute walk.Had a problem sleeping for two days due to a neighbors pump issue that was resolved very quickly by the staff and owner.. owner is very helpful and reply’s quickly to any concerns. Lots of great resteraunts nearby. Improvements would be some beach chairs, or buggie boards, and chairs to sit on outside the unit. Great unit other wise. All new appliances . Down side. Grocer are not easily available near by unless u taxi or have a car.. Bring binoculars and good walking shoes to get the most out of it!!..Pura vida!!

Great Condo In A Good Location

  • 4 of 5

This is a great rental in Tamarindo, being approximately 5 minutes walk to Sharky's, and approximately 7 minutes to the beach, and only 1 block from the Tamarindo Fitness Center. The condo is clean, spacious and had everything you needed to have a self-sufficient vacation.....and the washing machine works wonderful:) Leah and Rosa are responsive to any issues, and were a pleasure to deal with. The security on site was wonderful, and very helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this condo for your stay in Tamarindo! Pura Vida!!!

Unrelated to the condo, but some recommendations for Tamarindo - Lobster Dinner at La Palapa; rent a golf cart and explore the area; take the Volcanic Hike/Waterfall/Hot Springs Tour with Native's Way Tours; try the ridiculously hot Buffalo wings at Sharky's as well as the Pub Crawl on Sunday; visit Wok and Roll for the BEST dumplings I have ever eaten; and of course, challenge yourself to learn to surf!!

Great location, wonderful people, pool was a nice bonus.

  • 3 of 5

The townhouse was comfortable and well appointed. Unfortunately there was a water leak that was never addressed during our stay, a leak from the water tank, meant the floor was always wet. We didn't have hot water for a day and a half as the water heater broke down. There was no toilet paper or dish soap or soap when we arrived. Rosa, Andy and the two guards were so kind, helpful and tried their best to make our stay pleasant.

Would we go back...definitely.

Almost as described in ad

We enjoyed our month stay in Tamarindo. The accommodation was ok. The kitchen items need updating. Only one large fry pan...much too big for the burner. Pots are Teflon lined and very scratched....I wouldn't use them. One nice stainless steel pot but no lid. A toaster oven would be nice. There was a dust pan or mop! Borrowed a mop from neighbor! Asked manager for mop but got no response! The master bed is totally worn out. When I washed the bedding I pulled back the mattress pad and the mattress is pretty much shredded...needs replacing. We walk lots but found the walk to the beach and stores is a bit much in 35C about 15 - 20 minutes uphill! We would take taxi back with groceries. It would be appreciated if towels for beach were provided. The condo complex is very quiet, nice to relax in the warm evenings. Small pool was inviting after day at beach and the walk back. The washing machine was a great bonus and clothes dried very quickly on the line provided. This is a gated complex but gates are open with very little security. The maintenance guy is there during the day but i wouldn't call him security, but nice guy! We found it safe but certainly not the security we had in Playa del Coco last year. If we return to Tamarindo we'll look for other accommodation.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your feedback. We bend over backwards to meet the high standards of our renters which include the installation of new air conditioners, new furniture for the sitting area, new holding tank for water in the event of a draught, the installation of a hot water system for showers and the tap, and WIFI. We sleep well with the knowledge we have provided excellent service for the price. We are sorry we did not meet your standards and hope you find accommodations to your liking on your next visit to the developing country of Costa Rica.

Kenny's place was clean and comfortable. The onsite staff is always helpful and available. The condo is conveniently located, not too far away from the beach, services, restaurants, etc ... It's quiet at night, we truly enjoyed it.

Thanks Kenny and Rosa !

About Kenny Gronningsater

We live in Brooklyn, NY but relish the beauty of Costa Rica.

Kenny Gronningsater purchased this villa in 2006

Why Kenny Gronningsater chose Tamarindo

The condo is a short walk to the best surfing in Costa Rica; Tamarindo provides easy access to the rain forest and all the activities within. A 5-7 minute walk brings you to restaurants, bars and the center of town where a variety of shops abound; The complex has 24hr. security so you, your kids, and your property are safe. Our unit has hot water and internet. We also recently installed a spare 500 gallon water tank in the backyard for the inevitable days when water becomes scarce.

What makes this villa unique

It's clean, attractive, safe, affordable, and we love the Spanish architecture of the condos with French doors that open onto a balcony with wrought-iron rails and a view of the complex with its tropical landscaping and kidney-shaped pool. The enclosed complex with 24 hour security means your kids are safe. The condo is close enough to walk to the beach but far enough away from town to not hear the late night revelers .

Nearest Airport
30 Miles
Car: not necessary

Zip lines over the forest canopy, therapeutic mud spas, rope courses in the rain forest, white-water rafting, horseback riding, tropical wildlife are all available with guided tours from the center of Tamarindo. Activities are action-packed and close by. Surf the best waves anywhere on pristine beaches !!!
