Beautiful log home and perfect location

  • 5 of 5

For our first visit to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, we wanted both a central location for sightseeing and a home on Lake Superior. This home was that and even more. It was close to Picture Rocks, Munising restaurants and Marquette. If you love beautiful scenery, exploring, high end accommodations and the tranquility of the lake then this home is all you could possibly want! We highly recommend Log Home on the Lake for it's cleanliness and attention to quality as well a the helpfulness of the owners Carolyn and Randy.

PERFECT honeymoon!!!

  • 5 of 5

My new husband and I stayed a week for our honeymoon and it could not possibly have been more perfect! Warm days and nights by the fire with the waves of Lake Superior crashing just outside, a great kitchen area to prepare meals, lots of cozy spaces to relax, nice big tub in the upstairs bathroom, etc! Not to mention the beauty of the area in general. We enjoyed hiking the Pictured Rocks and to all the waterfalls in the area (get a waterfall map for free in town). The house was definitely large for just the 2 of us, but we didn't mind...we've considered getting a few friends together to rent it again sometime. Like previous posts, our main complaint was that the doors were nailed shut...no biggie. We did also have some trouble getting ahold of anyone when we had questions during our week-long stay. Again, nothing major. Overall, it was absolutely wonderful and we dream about going back ALL the time!

Beautiful Home and Setting

  • 5 of 5

I would agree with the other comments. We were here for a long weekend; the home is very well equipped and in excellent condition. It is easy to find, sitting in a quiet, picturesque and private setting looking West over Lake Superior.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

The house and surrounding property were outstanding. It is the perfect vacation getaway location for those who like Northern Michigan and Lake Superior. Nearby Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is a fun place to take the kids. We also found some outstanding mountain biking trails on Grand Island and down the road in Marquette.

Perfect Fall Get-a-way!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed 6 nights during the first week of Oct 2012. The home was SO beautiful and the setting is GORGEOUS!....right on the water with glorious views of evening sunsets each night. We took full advantage of the firepit and even saw Northern Lights one evening. It was very romantic! The owners were very good to work with and answered all of our questions. The location is "secluded" without being remote at all. We would definitely stay there again if in that area and would highly recommend it to friends! The only "negative" thing I would say is that some of the windows and doors were nailed shut (I understand the reasoning, but it would've been nice to have access to them). There are no books, magazines, games,CDs or DVDs......so if you plan to stay any length of time, be sure to take those things with you. Absolutely NO major complaints. You will LOVE being there!

Beautiful Log Home & Perfect Get-Away!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 spent a tremendous Memorial Day Weekend at the Log Home on the Lake. The Lake Superior views were stunning. The home has a beautifully decorated interior and every room is so spacious. We enjoyed walking on the rock formations, hiking Picture Rocks National Park, watching the sunsets, nightly campfires, and grilling dinner on the outdoor deck. It's such a cozy place and extremely clean! The owner was very gracious and accommodating....we would LOVE to go back again!
