My husband and I stayed here Columbus Day weekend. The location is great! However, this was not what we expected. The condo was on the third floor and no elevator of which was not in the description. Also, when entering the building it smelled musty and moldy. The walls are paper thin. In the photo of the upstairs it looks like a twin and Dbl bed. Nope, two twin beds. Huh? The pull out couch and beds need updating as well and actually the whole place needs a face lift. It says that this space is good for four ppl. I disagree. The kitchen table only had two chairs. I'm glad I didn't invite my parents. There's no way they would have climbed three flights of stairs for the entire weekend and it would have been tight quarters. I gave this 3 stars because of the location only. On a positive note Carmine was very nice and prompt with her responses.
I'm sorry that Merena wasn't totally satisfied with the condo and felt that it would have been too small if she had invited her parents. Not sure what she was looking for but the Opera House is an older building on the list of Historic Buildings In Bethel which may account for the 'musty smell' in the basement which, from her description, is where she entered. Yes there are two flights of stairs if you enter that way, however, if you enter through the front door, as most guests do, there is only one flight of stairs. The condo description tells the potential guest that there is no elevator.
The pictures clearly show two twin beds upstairs. The sofa bed does pull out to a queen size sleep. Therefore, the condo does sleep 4. This is a small rural condo in the small town of beautiful Bethel, Maine not a suite at a 5 star hotel in the city. And yes, the location is fabulous- in the middle of town, across from the common and easily within walking distance to the many fine restaurants and shops.

Awesome Location and Price
Stayed in unit for 3 nights to play golf in area. Really convenient location! Handy to everything Bethel has to offer! Clean and comfy unit with nice downstairs w kitchen/bath. All you need including nice ground floor storage for golf clubs/skis and laundry. Not sure what was up with Xmas decorations in July but let live what will. Would stay here again.
Charming loft minutes from Sunday river
Cozy condo unit located minutes from Sunday river. The unit is equipped with everything you need to cook and there are extra linens and laundry should you need it. We would recommend this place and it is a great value for the area.
Since the Opera House is located in the center of the village, it's not difficult to park your car and not drive for a few days. Why? Because the shops and restaurants are all with walking distance. The Bethel Inn (across the street from the unit) is a great place to play 18, have dinner upstairs where it's more formal, dine downstairs at the Millbrook Tavern, or just stop in for happy hour and catch a Patriots or Sox game. Some of the best Italian food can be had across the street at 22 Broad. As you wander down Main St., you find the Suds Pub, a Japanese Restaurant, a pizza place, and a Chinese Restaurant. If you feel like cooking and staying in, that is as easy as stopping off at the local supermarket to get everything you would need. Of course, if you came to Bethel to ski, there isn't a better place to test your skills than Sunday River which is about 5 miles away. If you are looking for a less challenging mountain, than Mt. Abram in the next town is what you want. But it's not all about winter. In the Autumn, the foliage is unbelievable, and you don't have to go very far to enjoy it. Summer is special in Bethel as the commons (directly across from the Opera House) is always active with craft fairs, art shows, festivals, and children playing on the grass and enjoying the summer weather. If Bethel sounds too good to be true, there's only one way to find out. Grab your skis or golf clubs and come up to this beautiful place and visit.
