About the property

Modern 1 Bedroom w/King bed & Sofa Sleeper, sleeps 4 - 55" HDTV, WA/DR, Fireplc

This recently remodeled one bedroom garden apartment with high-end finishes, hardwood floors, and sleek gas fireplace is located in a classic mid-century modern building (1955) and has a private entrance off of a safe, well-lit, garden space that also features a shared deck and gas grill. The building is located on a quiet residential street on North Capitol Hill only two blocks south of the renowned Olmstead-designed Volunteer Park with its beautiful green-space, art museum, and conservatory. It shares this desirable neighborhood with million dollar mansions yet is conveniently located just blocks from restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, and grocery stores on Broadway and 15th Avenue. Our Walkscore is 91% which means that the very best of Seattle is at your doorstep. The new Link Light Rail is a 10 minute walk from the apartment. Within a few blocks you can easily access frequent and convenient bus service to Downtown Seattle, Pike Place Market, Seattle Center, Space Needle, Pike-Pine Urban Corridor, International District, Seattle University, University of Washington, First Hill hospitals, and other tourist and visitor destinations. Uber, Lyft, Reach Now, Car to go, and Pronto Bike Rentals are easily accessible in this neighborhood and give you many transportation choices.

THIS GARDEN APARTMENT is easily accessible on the ground-level and features a peaceful outlook into the neighboring courtyard gardens. The apartment is 600 square feet with one bedroom, one bathroom, living room, dining room and kitchen. The apartment has a sleek, modern, gas fireplace that serves as the focal point for the open-concept living and dining rooms- it provides both heat and ambiance. The living room features modern, comfortable furnishings such as a Queen Sofa Sleeper, a 55” HDTV, DVD player and free WIFI. The remodeled kitchen offers quartz countertops, stainless-steel appliances (fridge, stove, microwave, and dishwasher) and is well-stocked with cookery, dishes, spices, coffee & tea. A washer and dryer and laundry supplies are conveniently located in the apartment. The bedroom has a king-size bed with a high-quality memory foam mattress, 400 thread count sheets, down comforter, spacious closet and full-length mirror. The updated bathroom has a full size tub and shower, plenty of plush towels, shampoo, hair dryer, and an iron and ironing board.

Reserved off-street parking is available upon request for an additional charge of $9/night. Many of our guests elect to visit without a car but if you plan to have one we recommend that you reserve the parking space because the street parking is restricted.

This apartment can accommodate 4 people. We have two other apartments in the same building of similar size, quality, and furnishings so let us know if you have a larger group and we might be able to accommodate you in 2 or 3 apartments.

About Mark Hanses

Stephen and Mark have been friends for almost 20 years and business partners since 2009 when they bought this mid-century modern building, remodeled it, and made it available for business and vacation travelers. They picked this neighborhood because each lives nearby and they find Capitol Hill to be one of the most interesting, vibrant, and well-located neighborhoods in Seattle. They think that you will enjoy the quiet, comfortable, modern apartments and their proximity to the fun attractions nearby on the Hill, downtown, and the Pike/Pine corridor. Together they manage the apartments and will do whatever they can to help provide you with a comfortable and memorable stay in Seattle.

Well kept, clean and comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

The property is in a great location, easily accessible and quite beautiful! The apartment was clean and very comfortable. We did notice however that the sheets were missing, but we ran into Stephan and told him it was no worries at all. I did want to point out that the smoke alarm in the hallway of the bathroom and bedroom has become unstuck from the ceiling, we didn't do that, ;-) thank you both for such a wonderful stay and will definitely be back! Take care.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind review. We are glad that you enjoyed the apartment and the neighborhood. We understand that our cleaner forgot to leave the extra set of queen sheets for the sofa bed. Please forgive us for the over-sight. We encourage our guests to contact us whenever an issue such as this arises. My apartment is in the same building and I am always available to fix a problem or provide other assistance. We look forward to your return stay. Take care. Stephen and Mark

Great location! Perfect, quiet little apartment close to everything. We took the light rail from the airport and arrived just a few blocks away. Lots of restaurants and coffee shops nearby.

This was our second visit and we will definitely be back!

Our home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Our son lives in Seattle in the University District. He used to live in Capitol Hill. We still feel this is the place to stay. Stephen and Mark keep everything so clean and well stocked. This was our fifth stay and won't be our last.

Great place to stay away from hassle and bussel

  • 5 of 5

Thought at first we might be away from it all, but then went down to 15th Ave 2 mins away for great food, bars, groceries and pharmacy. Same place we would jump on the number 10 line to Broadway or the city. The unit was very clean, and well appointed. Stephen is close buy for any problems. Thank you for a great stay. Wayne & Sue

The apartment was described very accurately on the website. Comfortable, clean and well appointed.

  • 5 of 5

I highly recommend this apartment for your stay in Seattle. The location is great. Very quiet and private. Lots of shopping, restaurants and entertainment within walking distance. A very safe and pretty area in Seattle. It is very easy to get to all parts of the city from there despite the crazy street patterns, construction and major traffic. Big drawbacks of a city in constant growth and change although Seattle's street patterns have always been very confusing. The apartment comes with a parking spot! That was one of the deciding factors in choosing a place to stay. We drive to Seattle quite frequently and parking is a huge problem in that city. The apartment is very clean and well stocked with all your basic needs plus more. The decor is just as pictured on the website. Very bright and fun. It's updated and comfortable. I told my daughter that I would live there! There are two things that I would have liked to have, both a little minor. Washcloths in the bathroom and more storage for clothes and personal items. There was a closet with lots of hangers but no piece of furniture with drawers to put the rest of our clothing in. The bedroom has an extremely comfortable king size bed that takes up most of the room so there really isn't a place for a dresser. Maybe a small one inside the closet? We had a problem with the 2 smoke alarms that are positioned close together right outside the bathroom door. They both went off after our showers. We couldn't get the alarm to stop so I called one of the owners. He said that he heard them and was standing outside our door. He lives next door! That was the big bonus! He dismantled them and all was well. He was so friendly and helpful. All in all, this is a great find. I definitely would stay here again. Our daughter lives in Seattle and I have frequent doctor appointments in the city so our travels up there from Oregon are pretty frequent. We usually stay at one of the medical facilities for patient and families or at hotels. This visit was our first VRBO in Seattle. I know it won't be our last. Thank you Stephen and Mark. You do a great job!

This is a well appointed apartment. Walk to restaurants and shops. Down the street a couple of blocks through a beautiful residential neighborhood you'll find Volunteer Park. It's easy to get downtown by bus or Uber. We enjoyed our stay very much.
