The Isle of Palms, like all barrier islands, has a dynamic beach near the inlet that separates the island from Dewees Island. The ebb and flow of the changing tides, through the inlet, creates and moves sand bars just off shore. These sandbars will channel waves between them, resulting in the massive buildup of sand along portions of the island where other areas may develop temporary erosional hot spots. These hot spots will feature a sand beach throughout the day outside an hour or so before and after high tide. Where a dry sand beach may be limited in these few areas at high tide, walking either direction will lead to an area where the sandbars have created an expansive beach to enjoy at any tide.

This condo is beautifully redecorated and very comfortable! It's East facing is great and cooler in the late afternoon. Being on the 4th floor affords a wonderful view. We enjoyed a very relaxing week with no worries. We've been going to Wild Dunes for over 20 years and this is one of the nicest condos we've ever had the pleasure of renting.
Beautiful condo. Recent renovations are fabulous! All décor is relaxing and comfortable. The views are perfect. And the outdoor space on the deck is large and has great furniture. Can not think of anything to change except we would want to stay longer next time!!
Nice condo and property. Middle of June and plenty of room on the beach. Plenty of things to see and do, local restaurants are great
we didn't need a 2 BR, being a couple going alone; but the advantage you get is a bigger kitchen, a bigger living area, a bigger deck, just more room all around which greatly enhanced our experience. You might not think of this but we've have done both ways and for the little extra(generally about $50 a night) I think it was well worth it.
As to this specific property, it was very well appointed, clean and comfortable. It has a fantastic direct and unobstructed view of the ocean(which is about 30 yds from your deck) and you can hear the ocean from the master bedroom and living room. Exactly what we wanted. The deck looks out on the ocean, the MBR is behind it and the LR also has two large windows that look out over the ocean. Loved it.
FYI, the picture of the building must have been taken when it was first constructed because the property is now nicely landscaped. And it is much closer to the water than it appears in that picture(must have been taken with a wide angle lense). Its about 10-15 paces from the pool to the ocean, depending on the tide.
Delightful!!! The owners have a flair with making you feel at home. We vacation at many locations along the coast and this is a favorite for us. Close to Charleston activities, yet remote Ocean front setting. We will definitely stay here again (...and again, etc). Enjoy!
