About Owner/Manager

Born and raised in La Crosse, WI, I have driven the Great River Road almost on a daily basis. After spending 11 years in the Twin Cities and moving back to be closer to family, being able to share the beauty of the area with others means a lot to me.

Owner/Manager purchased this house in 2011

Why Owner/Manager chose Southwest

Growing up along the Mississippi River, you can sometimes take the beauty for granted and forget to appreciate what nature has created. When I found this house it made me want to step back and take the time to relax and enjoy the view.

What makes this house unique

This property has many amenities that will make you feel at home. Besides the spectacular views and breathtaking sunsets, the house has everything you will need to enjoy your stay. The kitchen has everything you will need to cook your favorite meal.

Wonderful view of the Mississippi river

  • 4 of 5

A very well maintained, beautiful and comfortable home with a great view of the Mississippi right from your front yard. I enjoyed watching the quiet river barge traffic and of course the wonderful pelican bird population.

Beautiful home, we will go back!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I, along with our two sons and daughters-in-law spent two nights here, hoping to get a ton of perch from the Mississippi! The fishing was not so good while we were there, but staying in this beautiful home made up for it! Not only is it furnished very nicely, it also has everything you could possibly need while you are there. The owner has thought of everything and more!! Whatever you need, she has supplied. The home is immaculate and the grounds are well taken care of too. I would recommend this home to anyone who may want to spend time fishing on the river or just a place to sit back and relax. You have everything you could ask for.....except a maid! We will definitely be going back!! What a spectacular vacation home!!!

Weekend getaway to the great river road

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I and two friends enjoyed a wonderful weekend here overlooking the Mississippi! A great house for us - the three bedrooms were perfect and having a garage was a real plus with the very cold nights we had! the house had everything we needed and was a wonderful place to relax after visiting Lacrosse and the Amish countryside! We have rented a good number of homes on the Great River Road and this one was the most comfortable with the best view we have enjoyed! Thank You!

River Road Haven is located along the Great River Road just north of historic Genoa, WI. It is a short 2 mile drive south to Lock & Dam #8 - one of the unique engineering feats along the Mississippi River, and fishing on Clements Fishing Barge. There are restaurants for lunch and great meats to purchase from Steve's Country Market, just east of Genoa on Highway 56.

La Crosse, WI, is 15 miles north and offers shopping, restaurants, history, sporting events, farmer's markets, beaches, festivals - Oktoberfest and River Fest to name a couple, parks and much more.

There are many quaint little towns within a scenic hours drive from Genoa that offer great shopping, eating, golfing, farmer's markets sight seeing, such as Viroqua, WI, Prairie du Chein, WI, Mc Gregor/Marquette, IA, Lansing, IA, and many more in between.

Another fun day trip is to Amish Country near Cashton, WI. You can find quilts, furniture, rugs, plants, candy and much more. You can find maps at local gas stations to show you where to go. You can usually shop Monday - Saturday until dusk, year round.
