This is the perfect location for a relaxing vacation. The house is close enough to the sites and attractions of Oahu but remote enough to allow for peace and quiet when you want to take a break.
There is a beautifully landscaped yard enclosed on three sides with the fourth side open to the sea. There is plenty of room to enjoy the natural beauty of the rural side of Oahu. This is a great location for families. The North Shore and Honolulu attractions are within easy driving distance but you can also enjoy the privacy of your own waterfront/beach. This property is close to the Polynesian Cultural Center and state parks.
This VRBO partner has demonstrated and is committed to fast response times, the best rates, and a great guest experience.
The property is ideal for a relaxing getaway or a destination wedding such as we had. Although it was April and the weather was uncooperative, Kaina went to extreme measures to make sure my daughter had the wedding of her dreams. Everything was fabulous. The location is so convenient for the Northshore and a great escape from the hustle, bustle of Honolulu. I would highly recommend this property.
We always enjoy our stay here and wish we could come back more often.
FANTASTIC LOCATION. If you want the night life and the city atmosphere, this is not for you. but, if you want to layback and relax listen to the surf and watch the waves from your own private strip of beach, listen to the surf from your bedroom widow with the sea breeze keeping your cool than this is the place. it is located close to Polynesian Culture Center, (a must visit) Turtle beach, North Shore. And only about 30 min from Honolulu, and Waikiki beach.
My family of 5 stayed 5 nights in February. We really wanted to like this house. The reviews were good, oceanfront. We are not picky if the house is old or needs some work. We just wanted a quiet peaceful place. The house appears quaint right next to the ocean, and the small beach alongside it is very nice. The weather was not optimal during the time we were there, but during brief sunny moments, we would spend them on the private beach.
This was the hard part-traffic. There is a lot of traffic on the road just outside the house. There is one road that goes around the island, and it happens to be outside the front gate. We heard traffic, including several ambulances, a fair amount anywhere from the house except the main bedroom. This actually was the biggest downside. So much traffic. Not only is it loud, but not safe if you decide to go for a walk to the beach down the road, or to the Shrimp Shack. There is no shoulder and people drive above speed limit.
The inside of the house seems dark, although the cloudy weather may have contributed to this. There is a moldy smell in the middle bedroom, we had to air it out everyday. The oceanfront bedroom was quite nice, open, bright, view amazing. We heard the ocean all night from this room, no traffic. The bathroom is tiny but ok. The kitchen is spacious and nice. I would recommend a new toaster as well as a coffee grinder. We did ask for them on our first morning as we were doing breakfasts at the house. Unfortunately , never arrived. We came up with creative ways to make toast and bagels, as the old toaster did not work. One thing, I would recommend is cleaning the seal of the fridge, especially the top part as it appeared moldy. The humidity is the problem, which we realize cannot be controlled. Something to think about if you have mold allergies. Although we did not meet in person, Kiana was very pleasant on the phone. He was planning on getting a toaster and coffee grinder for us, but it didn't happen. He has another job which I'm sure can be hard to balance.
Thank you for letting us stay at your home. Although not optimal for us especially with the traffic (and weather), it was still a place to stay next to the ocean.
My husband and I stayed here with our 6 kids. It was amazing!!! The property was beautiful, and Kaina was so nice and helpful. We had friends stay in Waikiki, and that was too busy for us. Make sure to take the kayaks out to the reef, it’s just breathtaking! Thanks for sharing your home with us. We loved our time on the island. We will be back.
You will have to look hard to find a property closer to the ocean. The views are spectacular... especially the sunrises.
It rained extremely hard nearly every day we were there so we did not get to enjoy the outside accommodations and spent most of our time inside the house.
The house is older but has a lot of character. It is also close to the Kualoa Ranch and Polynesian Center.
We did experience some trouble with the remote gate access as the rain kept shorting out the power source and we did have a couple of outdoor “visitors” looking for someplace dry and warm. For us, it just added to the experience of “living in Hawaii”. But I would recommend you keep all food in the refrigerator or in the cupboards as the counters may become fair game.
Our rental experience was very positive and overal we really enjoyed staying here. If I return with a group (there were 3 couples) I would rent here again.
Mahalo!!!
Enjoy rural Hawaii away from the crush of Honolulu and Waikiki. Close to Kualoa Ranch, Polynesian Cultural Center, hiking areas, and the Macademia Nut Farm
