Good views, tranquil, private. The stars seem much closer. Relax indoors by the 2 story fireplace or outside overlooking the valley leading to Cherokee from the hot tub. Wide selection of movies on DVD & VHS. Selection of books and magazines. Enjoy roasting marshmallows or making s'mores at the outdoor firepit. Wood is included in fee ( only during the winter months). Should you want a fire during the warmer months there are a number of stores that sell bundles of wood. Walking trails, nearby brook and stream. 2-story house. Pets are allowed per an additional fee. A fenced in area is provided for dogs. We are on the same mountain as Ghost Town in the Sky.
Enjoy the views from inside ( many windows) and from outside, the quiet and the charm. House is at 4400' elevation and is fully furnished and equipped.
Escape the city heat. Summertime high at 4400' is usually less than 78°. Always need a blanket at night.

Trish,
Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed your cabin. It was the best stocked ( as far as cook wear, dishes, etc ) cabin we’ve ever stayed in.
Thank you for being so considerate. The location is absolutely stunning. It was so nice to sit in the hot tub and enjoy the beautiful view. The inside of the cabin was very comfortable. Felt like home!
Thanks
Trish's Place is just wonderful! My husband & I were looking for a place to get away from it all and Trish's cabin was everything we were looking for. The cabin was cozy and filled with everything we could ever need. We spent many a morning sipping our coffee on the porch while looking out at the mountains. Sometimes it was hard to break away from the peace and beautiful scenery to take in the sights of Maggie Valley and the surrounding areas. Thank you Trish, for sharing your lovely cabin with us. We hope to return again in the future.

The views from every window were amazing! The house was comfortable and had everything we needed! We enjoyed a hike on the property that led to a babbling brook, grilled out, sat around a wonderful fire in the fire pit, built fires in the spacious indoor fireplace, and rang in the new year in the hot tub (as it began to sleet!) Trish was so helpful and friendly!
It was rustic and try to get there in day light. Loved the area. Great yard for dogs to play and everything was clean and cozy. Had a wonderful weekend with kids, grandson, and grand puppies.
We enjoyed our 5 day stay here, only came down the mountain one time to get groceries
. I have been right in heaven. Temp mid 60a, chipmunks stuffing his cheeks full of nuts and birdseed and going god knows where to stash them!
Cedar waxwings, tufted titmouse, chickadees, nuthatch birds! And the cutest little black junco stretching his neck, trying his best to see me on the couch! He's smaller than a
little sparrow! Don't forget your birdseed!
Very large hot tub too!
I will start with the route to Trish's place. We reached the house at midnight and it is pitch dark. My advise is to reach the place when you have light is you don't need to face the trouble of driving the path in dark. Always good to ride a 4 wheel drive car up the mountains. Follow Trish's route instructions rather than google maps. Google maps works good too. The place is just like "How you want a cabin in woods" not scary but beautiful. From the back yard you can see the mountains sitting in a comfortable HOT TUB. The HOT TUB and the cold weather, with gorgeous sight is delightful.
Overall, it is a great experience! I would highly recommend and I will defiantly visit this place again.
Home could use some updates, but was clean and comfortable. Road up to property could use some work.
Maggie Valley, situated in North Carolina's stunning Smoky Mountains, is known for its unrivaled location and friendly, small town character. This town is one of the most relaxing places I've ever been. I enjoy driving down the mountain in the morning and heading down main street to visit the shops. There are many shops and local stores some that sell fresh made fudge and others that sale Maggie Valley gifts you can give to your friends. If you turn right from our home you will come up to Old Grey Mare, a local shop that has the best boiled peanuts ever! They also have fresh produce and gifts for the family. Travel down that road a ways more and you will be in Cherokee where you can either buy a fishing license and try your luck at some trout fishing or test your luck at Harrah's casino. They also have a kids play room in there so mom and dad can get some free time. Joey's Pancake house has a line of people out the door every time I drive by in the morning it seems. It's worth a visit even though you may have to wait a little bit.
