Beautiful, comfortable lake house!

  • 5 of 5

We traveled from Florida with eight of our children including two little ones that we are in the process of adopting. My husband's mom came down from West Virginia to spend the week with us and get to know them! We all had a great time! The house has plenty of room for everyone. It is very quiet and in a fairly remote neighborhood with about a dozen other houses all facing the lake. We did quite a bit of sightseeing while there, though, traveling to Roanoke to visit Black Dog Salvage one day, to Mount Airy, NC to see the Mayberry/Andy Griffith attractions one day and to Fort Chiswell to visit the animal park and do some antique shopping one day. The location was great for exploring and coming back to peace and quiet in the evening. We rented a pontoon boat from Claytor Lake Water Sports one day, also. (They weren't officially open on weekdays yet for the season but we called ahead and were able to make arrangements with them.) We would absolutely stay again! Thank you so much to Mandy and the Bennetts for an amazing spring break vacation!

Great family golf trip

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the lake. The home was very functional and flowed nicely to accommodate our family of golfers. We played the Pete Dye River Course in Radford as well as Draper Valley Golf Course in Draper, VA.

Lotsa kitchen accessories to cook meals for all of us. Parking was adequate too.

We love the area where most of us have enjoyed in past years. Much of our family are Hokies so we were able to visit some of Blacksburg as well. Thanks again to the Bennett's. See you next year!

Two families together for celebration

  • 5 of 5

My (now) Fiancé and I planned this getaway for both sets of our parents as the perfect way to announce our engagement! Both of our dads walk with canes and the ease of the house and easy access to the lake was perfect for them to get around. The house is perfect for a group of six to eight with the large kitchen, table, and sitting rooms. We rented a pontoon boat one day from Conrad Brothers which is only about a ten minute drive, and enjoyed the entire lake. This property is private and beautiful. I hope we can come back again some day!

Relaxing Week With Family

  • 4 of 5

This was a pleasant house for a family vacation. There was plenty of room in which to spread out and everyone had privacy, but yet a large, well equipped, kitchen in which to gather for meals or games. We enjoyed our evening meals outside and after dark camp-fires around the fire-pit. The use of the canoe and the paddle boat were nice touches that we enjoyed as well. Spottings of Great Blue Heron and even a Bald Eagle across the lake were exciting throughout the week. The owners were very responsive and easy to work with, thus making the rental process flawless.

We thought it was a great place for a family reunion. Gramma Millie

"Playa Casa" is in a great location! It was so peaceful and serene relaxing either down by the water or on one of the patio decks. We also relaxed on the wonderful sun porch. One day my son and his adult daughter took the canoe up to the bridge and back. They enjoyed it tremendously. My daughter and her husband used both the canoe and the paddle boat. My daughter and my granddaughter also enjoyed large tubes that they had brought with them. We were 9 people and at no time did we feel crowded. The home was well stocked including towels and beach towels. It was our first reunion and everyone wants to do a second one. We had a wonderful vacation and would recommend this property for a stay at Claytor Lake.
