About Daniel Kaminski
I am a professional Chartered Accountant who trained with KPMG, one of the world's leading firms. I now have my own business advising companies investing in Spain. We have always had a house in central London, as well as Madrid for a while. We love travel, music, opera, food, horses, etc. I spend quite a lot of time travelling to Spain.
Daniel Kaminski purchased this Apartment in 1961
Why Daniel Kaminski chose Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea
This is a unique property which has been owned by our family since 1961. It is a wonderful and very large late Victorian house which still has many original features. We have carried out much restoration work to maintain the original features, but also to make it work more practically. We have a large rear garden. At the front of the house there are three lovely, mature olive trees screening the studio flat and lots of lavender.
What makes this Apartment unique
This is a quiet oasis and refuge in central London, and within easy reach of some of London's most beautiful parks and squares. The area is also full of restaurants, museums, shops and many other cultural, leisure and sports facilities. We enjoy excellent transport links to all parts of London, as well as trains to Gatwick Airport, and coaches from very nearby direct to Oxford and Windsor! Contact me on daniel at loneur.com
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
We were very satisfied with the accommodation. It was spacious and comfortable. Daniel, the owner, was very helpful and friendly. He has made sure the flat is well provided with just about everything you might need (even including needles and thread) to make a stay there easy. He also provides plenty of information about the area in terms of transportation, restaurants etc. Would definitely stay here again!
Great Value on a Beautiful Street!
This rental is in the Kensington area. It’s the lower level of a beautiful row home with its own private entrance. It has all the amenities needed - a small but serviceable kitchen (we did not cook or eat in so I can’t address the kitchen equipment), good storage space for clothes, and a spacious studio area with a bed, love seat, and table . It also has a clothes washer in the unit which came in very handy! WiFi worked well as did cable tv.
The bath room is small ....very small...and there is a separate room for “the loo” which is equally small. Both are useable but we’re tall people so we had to adjust some.
We had good interactions with the owner - we ran into no problems with the unit but based on our interactions, I believe he would have been responsive.
This rental is near bus stops and a tube station but unfortunately the tube station is only used weekends and holidays.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay in London and having this rental as our home base.
Just to clarify that the bathroom is only a shower room with a basin as per the studio information. The shower room is about 2 sq mt in size which is the average size of a shower room for a studio in any city including London. This is the first comment about the shower size and loo size in 12 years and we have received more than 300 guests here ! However, I appreciate that there are some large people who possibly need bigger facilities and we will add a note on our webpage to make sure they are properly informed. Our studio is 45 sq mt in size, extraordinary for central London, it is in one of the most exclusive property areas in the world, and at a superbly low cost compared to anything in London. All our guests know and love it, but if a guest needs better or bigger facilities they can simply go to the Hilton at the top of our road but they will pay at least four times our nightly rate.
The toilet (WC) is a separate room and does have a sloping ceiling but again it seems to have been fine for over 300 people :)
I hope this clarifies the status of our facilities.
Great nights sleep in London
Daniels flat is exactly as described. It is on a beautiful street and allowed us to have breakfast before hitting the streets sightseeing. While it is very close to a train stop that line only runs on the weekend so we had a 20-30 minute walk to a train. The bus stop is just around the corner. The lack of bathroom storage had us running to and from and the shower height was a bit challenging for my 6’4” husband. The flat has fantastic closet space and is well appointed and extremely clean. Daniel was easily accessible and answered all our questions.
Thanks for your comments.
Maybe you did not understand the travel information fully but if there is no tube from Monday to Friday, you simply change at West Brompton on a 2 minute very regular overground train from Kensington (Olympia). However, the tubes run about 70% of the year throughout the week when exhibitions are on. Alternatively West Kensington is only an 8 minute walk away, and High Street Kensington is a 4 minute bus ride or 12 minute walk away.
Bathroom storage - nobody has requested additional storage in 10 years since we have let the studio but we will bear this in mind.
Shower height we will make a comment to warn exceptionally tall people - over 6ft 2ins.
Lovely to meet you both.
Simple, comfortable, convenient, ideal!
For a couple who like to eat breakfast at home and travel by bus and tube, this lovely studio was a perfect choice. Daniel is a great host, with good advice, a warm reception on arriving and simple key return when we left. The laundry in the flat was an unexpected asset. Don’t miss the excellent take-out Lebanese food at the Green Valley grocerynear by. Highly recommended!
Wonderful host, great location!
The flat was in a great location and the host was wonderful. It was a very cozy homey safe flat close to transportation. We would stay again anytime!
Russell Road is right next to Olympia Underground station as well as Olympia Train station. The station has direct trains to Gatwick Airport. At the end of the road is High Street Kensington with many buses to Central London. We are very close to the Olympia Hilton Hotel. The wonderful parks - Holland Park and Kensington Gardens - are very close. Shops include Tesco at Cromwell Road, and at Hammersmith Road, with a Waitrose on High St Kensington. Many restaurants on High St Kensington, Hammersmith, Notting Hill, Holland Park, Earls Court, etc. Very near to Westfield Shopping Centre! Eeasy access arriving by car from the M3, M4 and M40. Just across the railway from Olympia Exhibition Centre and not far from Earls Court Exhibition Centre.
Other Activities: OLYMPIA EXHIBITION CENTRE & EARLS COURT EXHIBITION CENTRE.
