Mrs Y Chandler
About Mrs Y Chandler
Our family has holidayed in Lymington for many years, sailed here and have had relatives living there . We hope to retire to the house before long as we love the area and the house. Currently we live and work in London.
Mrs Y Chandler purchased this Cottage in 2000
Why Mrs Y Chandler chose Lymington
There is so much to do here - walking, biking, riding, sailing, bird watching, golf, nice restaurants and cafes nearby
What makes this Cottage unique
The fantastic sea views and the lovely secluded garden. Total privacy and location is adjacent to a bird sanctuary. Yet it is only a mile from the centre of Lymington.

I have just returned from a long weekend stay with my family, ages ranging from 5 to 74, at this beautiful ‘cottage’. To use my grandsons word it is truly amazing, the photos do not do it justice. The accommodation is more than adequate for a family, all amenities on hand, with wonderful views from the lounge. The garden is ideal for children and as the weather was good to us we were able to enjoy it.
The Cricketers Inn, within walking distance, is good for food. Just beware they don’t lose your order and you have to wait as we did an hour before our meal was delivered.
We will definitely return.
We had a wonderful stay, lovely location with a great pub nearby offering a great meal for all the family. The cottage is spacious and easily catered for our guests. The only negative was £15pp for linen, I felt this to be a little steep, We feel this would be better if it was included in the price. Overall we had all that we needed to make it a great stay. We would definitely recommend this cottage for a weekend/week away and we hope to visit again soon.
We are delighted you enjoyed your stay.
With regard to linen /bath towel hire we would like to respond. We have in fact been advised recently to increase the rental for these items to £20.00 per head which we have not done. If we were to automatically include this cost in the rental figure it would raise it somewhat. Over 50% of our guests bring their own linen. If we were to include this service for every guest it would involve more labour resources to make up bedding for 12 people for every let when we usually have occupancy of less than that number. The cleaners then would spend more time preparing the linen/towels and then laundering and drying items that may not have been used , which does not sit easily for us ecologically, practically or economically.
There is no profit in offering this service , albeit we fully understand that for many people it is desirable and therefore it is offered on request. We hope this clarifies the service a little for you.
Wonderful house, views and location
Wonderful wetland / sea views.
Well maintained house with great fire place.
Loads of parking, indoor and outdoor space.
Walkable to sea and local pub.
Bedrooms on ground floor with living space above so can be loud for children sleeping.
Ran out of toilet paper and washing up liquid for a 3 day stay so had to buy.
An extra £90 for bedding and towels seems excessive.
Overall a lovely stay and would recommend
We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at pour house.
The layout is well explained beforehand and the stunning views from the house makes this all worth while. We have never had an adverse comment about this in 20 years!
We are sorry the toilet paper supplied was not sufficient for your needs. Occasionally the washing up liquid supply may run low during a very busy season such as we have been lucky enough to have during the autumn season.
The linen/bath towel hire is agreed beforehand with each guest according to individual requirements. The charge barely covers the time needed to make up beds, the washing and drying and supplying and maintenance of the linen. We hope despite this that your weekend was enjoyable.
We were very fortunate to have the opportunity to stay in this wonderful house. The information provided by the owners was clear and comprehensive, and our stay exceeded our expectations. The location was great (and easy to find), and everything to do with the house worked well.
Beautiful, Big House walking distance to beach, pub, and cute town!
Not easy to find a house this large in walking distance to town and a pub. Beautiful views of the Isle of Wight. Perfect lounge for big family gatherings, with slouchy sofas and a great TV and wood burner. The beds were very comfortable (decent mattresses), the showers are new and the water is hot. For those that cook, the kitchen is well kitted-out and also new. The weather didn't cooperate, but there is a perfect deck and garden to enjoy the sunshine. We hope to come back!
Fantastic location. Amazing facilities. Comfy beds. Everything we needed for a weekend get away from the madness of London.
Thank you !
We are delighted you enjoyed your stay .
Lymington is a well-known sailing centre at the edge of the famous New Forest which is a National Park. It has many walks, lakes, characterful old English pubs and is a nature reserve. Local activities include many walking areas, horse-riding bird-watching and of course all water sports. The Isle of Wight is a popular tourist attraction only a 15 minute ferry ride away with many beaches. Lymington is a thriving town with a very popular Saturday market and is only a half hour drive from both Southampton and Bournemouth airports and just under a 2 hour drive from from the centre of London. Nearest beaches are approx 5 miles away and there are many places to explore in all sizes of boat, from Cowes in the Isle of Wight to Beaulieu, Keyhaven and on to Mudeford beaches.
There are many nice pubs, some good restaurants and golf courses within easy reach.
