Bedrooms 3
Space 2,300 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8-12)

2300 square foot cedar cabin. Centrally located to access Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, or the Townsend/Cades Cove areas.

My favorite part of our location is that we are close to anything in the area, almost centrally located. But once you leave Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg to head to the cabin, the heavy traffic ceases and you leave that behind for the peace and beauty of the mountains, all in the matter of just 10 minutes. You get the best of both worlds.

We have tried to make this cabin enjoyable for all ages. Kids can play in the game room and the adults enjoy conversation, games, or TV in the den above. Swing, rock, or eat outside on one of the four decks. Read a book on the main deck while swinging or just relaxing and enjoy the quiet of the outdoors.

Cabin has 3 levels, one bedroom/bath each level.

Kitchen/den/dining on main level with master bedroom. Master bedroom has kingsize bed and its own bath, along with a separate Jacuzzi tub.

The lower level has a large Game room with pool table, air hockey, 42 inch TV, video arcade game and darts, with separate bedroom/bath with 2 queen beds. The couch in game room is a sofa sleeper. Off the game room is a private deck and hot tub.

The upper level has a bedroom with queen bed, bath, deck, and extra room with TV and sofa sleeper. We enjoy sitting on the front decks and viewing the other cabins and the lights at night, or sitting on the back decks (or in hottub) and being at peace with nature.

Each level has a deck with the main level having a deck which wraps around two sides and a separate deck off the master bedroom in front. There is also a Jacuzzi in the master bedroom.

The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you could want, glass top range with oven timer if you want to cook while enjoying the area.

At times our children and guests are content to just enjoy the cabin and never do the tourist stuff, and at times they spend all day in nature, shopping, or enjoying Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg.

About Brian Galloway

I am a Mental Health Counselor and my wife is in accounting. We live in Mississippi but both parents live in Tennessee, just on opposite ends of the state. We have three children, two married and on their own, and one just starting college. Our youngest son has 'grown up' with the cabin, while our other two were already finishing high school or in college, so they are just now beginning to experience the cabin with their families.

Brian Galloway purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Brian Galloway chose East

One of our parents live in East Tennessee, so we began visiting the Gatlinburg area when we came to see them and fell in love with the area. I especially like Wears Valley because it is close to the bustle of Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg but has the tranquility of the mountains. There seems to be endless diversity to what you can do there. We bought the cabin so we could have a place to come and relax when we wanted to get away for a few days.

What makes this cabin unique

The cabin is peaceful and relaxing to me. I have all the luxuries of home (and a few more). Can watch TV, surf the internet, quietly read, or play games. One of the high lights of our year is going to the cabin in late October, early November with two couples who are retired and dear friends of ours. We play cards, decorate for Christmas, and are able to get away from our normal lives.

The cabin is large enough to invite others to come with us, but small enough for just the two of us, if that's what we want.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We stayed at Smokyview with our son and his friend. It rained and the wind blew but the cabin was cozy and clean. We enjoyed the game room. Cooked and grilled. Easy to get to pigeon forge for the parade. Good privacy. Highly recommend.

Mountain Tranquility

  • 5 of 5

Our family of six adults and three children had a great fall break here. There is plenty of space and we enjoyed the game room downstairs. Brian is very easy to work with and this is our second time to stay.

Beautiful Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of 12 who rented this cabin to attend Polishing The Pulpit in Sevierville. It is a beautiful cabin with lots of space and everything you could want for a fabulous vacation or get away. Though we were gone most of the day we enjoyed coming back in the evenings to family fun. The cabin was clean and well furnished. We enjoyed playing pool and air hockey and the table games that were available. Though we did not use the hot tub it looked very inviting. It was a little higher elevation and a little further from Sevierville then we had anticipated but we had a lovely stay. Coffee in the morning on the deck was a delight as were the wild turkeys who happened by. Brian the owner was easy to contact and responded quickly to questions. We would definitely recommend this mountain cabin.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying at our cabin. The first time we rented in Wears Valley, we rented on the other side of the valley toward Townsend. We were about 20 minutes from light 3 in Pigeon Forge. I liked it because we could go to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge and be in the hustle and bustle of those spots and then come 'home' to the peace and quiet of the mountains. I like this cabin better, because it is between Wears Valley and Pigeon forge and is about a 10 minute drive to light 3 or light 6. I'm glad you got to go to PTP as well.

Beautiful, Cozy, Comfortable Cabin

  • 3 of 5

We loved the Beautiful scenery going up high in the mountains! It was cozy, comfortable, and relaxing! The Hot Tub was great to get in every night with the adults or kids. The Air Hockey table and Pool table were great to play when we were relaxing and playing with the kids. We enjoyed playing UNO and Skip-bo too! Hilarious time with the kids! We did not hear from the owner the whole time we were there. We did e-mail him and he got back to us the next day. The issue we had was not resolved before we left. The towels offered were rough. The toilet paper was thin. I would definitely bring your own. It was nice having a washer, dryer, and dish washer! It says Smokey Mountain View, but you can not see a mountain view because the trees hide it. The sun woke us up every morning around 7 or 7:30 a.m. because it shinned right through the windows. The night we arrived we ordered from a place called The Original pizza I think they changed names, but their food was great! We enjoyed taking pictures of the mountains while we were driving around. We went to Ripley's Aquarium, The Track (Go-Carts), Jayell's Ranch (Horseback Riding), Wahoo Ziplining, and they were all pretty amazing! We drove through the tourist area of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. It was really cool due to all of the places you can go. While there we went to Bennette's BBQ Restaurant, and let me tell you it was Great food! I tried deep fried deviled eggs. They were sensational! I would give this restaurant a 5 Star Rating! We shopped at Aldi & Walmart for groceries. It was nice that everything was at least 20 to 30 minutes from the cabin. All in all we had a good time while we were there with our family! Thank you!

Owner's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed the cabin and its amenities and had a good time in the area. I was slightly confused as to why you rated the cabin a 3 of 5.You seem to be critical that I did not contact you while you were there, until you contacted me. That's because you are there to enjoy YOUR vacation, and don't need me butting in. I send my email, phone and text contacts should you need anything. You emailed me a few days into your stay that the trash was full and how to empty it. We supply two very large trash cans in a bear proof bin for trash. If you don't push the bags down into the cans, the air will keep them up and make it look like they are full. But I emailed you back the next day, as soon as I saw the email as you sent it in the evening and said I wold send my cleaner to get the trash and she came out the next day. That's the only communication I had while you were there. We had a forest fire in this area back in November, and the aftermath of forest fires is vegetation grows like crazy. The back 'yard' of the cabin is the side of the mountain, and woodsy, and has grown up this summer. It will be cut back this fall. But the views from the rest of the property are not hampered by the trees. I'm sorry you missed those. I'm assuming you are complaining about the upper windows not having drapes? These windows are there because people like seeing out and as you can see from the pictures, you would need a ladder to get to them to pull back drapes if we had drapes on those windows. I've had this cabin for 12 years and you are the first to want drapes on the upper windows. Our towels are bought from Kohls or Belk and we get the better quality because they last far longer. We had a problem with the cleaner not drying the towels enough in the summer humidity and they were souring. We got that taken care of and she does use fabric softener. Again, no one has every mentioned this. We were there for a bday party a few days before you came. The towels were fine. Likewise the cleaner supplies the toilet paper which she buys from the same place in bulk everyone else does. Again, I've never had a complaint about the toilet paper. You missed Kroger. It is only 10-15 minutes away. Walmart is on the other side of Pigeon Forge, in the edge of Sevierville. I am glad you seemed to have a good time. I hope you are a little more careful with your ratings in the future.

In area: caves, Cades Cove, 15 miles from Gatlinburg. 5 miles from Pideon Forge/Sevierville with shows, shopping, and various entertainment. Horseback riding within 5 miles. Much hiking in area. Innertubing 7 miles away in Townsend. Close to the hustle of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg with the peace and quiet of the mountains.
