About Sandra & Ernie Morello

We both love the unique character of this building with its: post and beam construction, wide baseboards, door frames, high ceilings, stair cases and interesting history. Even the large Linden and Elm trees out front add a grandeur to the site.

Sandra & Ernie Morello purchased this apartment in 1990

Why Sandra & Ernie Morello chose Queens Square

We decided to convert one of the apartments into a vacation rental in 1996 after staying in some furnished units in Quebec. The aspect of renting an apartment while on vacation appealed to both of us and we thought our building was well located and offered the travelling public an alternative to hotels and B&B's.

What makes this apartment unique

Brighton Tourist Apartments

1. Well furnished and well equipped

2. The apartments border the perimeter of Victoria Park, a 60 acre park with: a waterfront walk, tennis courts, gardens, children's playgrounds, swimming pool, wooded trails and sports fields.

3. A 10 minute walk takes you into the centre of historic Charlottetown or a 10 minute drive will take you into the rural landscape of Prince Edward Island.

Hospitality at its finest

  • 5 of 5

The home away from home experience that our hosts have created of their Brighton Road property was an ideal vacation option during our stay in Charlottetown. Sandra and Ernie warmly welcomed us to this historical building replete with numerous amenities and easily accessible to many attractions that are representative of the city. We were steps away from the waterfront and a bicycle path which Sandra and Ernie allow their guests to borrow bicycles and helmets for. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for an alternative to a hotel stay and someplace that feels like, home.

perfect spot

  • 5 of 5

Sandra is a wonderful host, the apartment was just right, spacious and had everything we needed, including (bonus) netflix! A great spot to explore Charlottetown and surrounding area from. If you are on a budget, the kitchen is fully stocked to cook almost anything, so you could prepare all your meals here. The linens were comfy, including throws on couch for those chilly evenings. Lots of towels, a bar of soap, even a toothbrush if you forgot yours.

Sandra is very friendly, helpful and full of useful information. We would stay again without hesitation.

Excellent accomodation

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary by visiting PEI in September 2014. Our stay at the Brighton Vacation Apartment was wonderful and suited our needs exceptionally. Walking distance to downtown and Victoria Park and Government House. Bikes available from the owners was an added bonus and we had a taste of biking the Confederation Trail. Parking our small rental car in the back area worked well; having a car to explore the island was great. Sandra was very warm and welcoming, helpful in providing local and island information, and providing a few provisions, including refreshing beverages and celebratory champagne was wonderful. Cooking our own meals after a day of sightseeing worked very well for the 2 of us. The historic neighbourhood added charm.

When we get a chance, would love to go back again.

Great apartment in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I visited Charlottetown recently to visit aging parents and attend the Fall Flavours Culinary Festival. Working with Sandra was a delight from start to finish. We arrived very late (1:30 am): instructions for the apartment key and parking instructions were excellent. The owners had provided some staples so we were able to have coffee and breakfast without having to run out and immediately shop. The apartment was extremely comfortable and well equipped. Location was excellent for walking downtown, to the Confederation Center, to the festival at the exhibition grounds to nearby restaurants and to the beautiful water Boardwalk. Sandra and Ernie were available for any questions we had. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the island and would highly recommend the Brighton Apartments if you are looking for a comfortable accommodation in a historic home close to downtown Charlottetown.
