This comfortable , absolute ocean - front 3rd Floor unit is perfect for your special romantic occasions; however it will sleep four.This is a studio unit. Privacy,security & sunset views are all yours for your vacation on the Big Island of Hawaii. The unit has a fully equipped view oriented kitchen, living room with new furniture ,new queen size bed, and a lanai with sliding glass doors that open to the ocean - where Whales, Dolphins, Green Turtles and a myriad of colourful fish can be seen most days.

We have done a complete renovation on 309 and A/C was added in 2017. It has been completely re painted. We have added a new dresser with an HD TV with Wi Fi. A new Queen size bed with a new mattress and bedding. All new dishes. All new face cloths,hand and bath towels. New coffee table pictures and mirrors.

We have also added for your beach fun. Two boogie boards,two sets of snorkel gear and beach towels.

Common areas of Kona Magic Sands Condos are well maintained and has clean redone pool, BBQ (propane) ,individual parking space, laundry room has 2 washers and 2 dryers.

Keauhou Shopping Center is miles south on Alii Drive. There is a Kita Grocery Store, Pizza Parlour, Longs Drugstore, and Movie Theatre

We love being right on the ocean.It's 3 miles South of the main Kona strip which I regard as a good thing. But it is still on Alii Drive for nice morning or evening peaceful walks. Yet you are only minutes away from town. It has a great location right next to Kona Magic Sands Beach. The ocean view is great from the condo

What makes this condo unique

The unit is compact and full advantage has been taken of the space allotted. The Lanai is enclosed so you can sit at the kitchen table with the glass doors open and see and hear the waves. You also wake up in the morning and sit up in bed and see the ocean. It's amazing. Dolphins and Whales are often seen right out in the ocean from your unit. It's right on Magic Sands Beach, which is a great beach. There is not a ton of swimming beaches right in Kona and this one is one of the best. Some of the best boogie boarding and snorkelling on the Island. 309 is on the 3 rd floor with extra great views and no street noise. It has a numbered parking spot.

Aloha. As of April 14/12 we are the new owners of 309 vrbo#409575.We also own Kona Magic Sands 314 vrbo#294583 and Sea Village#336199.We are very excited to own this property.The view and the location are second to none.We have had our cleaning staff go in and bring it up to our standards.At present we have replaced the double bed with a complete new Queen size bed. We will be going to Kona on May21/12 to have the condo repainted,refurbished and brought up todate.New door,TV,Wi Fi ,etc.

Ocean surf

We really enjoyed the sounds of the surf all night long. It was very relaxing. The condo had everything we needed for our mom and daughters trip. We would stay there again.

Loved it! Great view with easy and close beach access!

Very clean unit with great views. It was fully stocked with kitchenware and towels. I personally loved falling asleep to the waves crashing outside. There is a beautiful sandy beach next door. The first day we arrived there was a sea turtle to greet us. Great location, 5 min drive to town. Would love to stay again!

Charming

The property management company was very nice and helpful from the start. The condo was very clean and well stocked with towels and blankets. We are a family of the 3 and the pull out couch was actually very comfortable. The view was unbelievable! We were very pleased with the condo and would stay at magic sands again. The only thing that is not listed anywhere is that the building does not have an elevator so units on lower level is probably better for people with disabilities or small children. We were on the third floor which was fine for us but might cause issues for some. Overall the place is wonderful.!!

Perfect place to see Kona

We finished our week long Big Island trip by staying in Kona for 3 nights.

It's far enough from downtown that it wasn't super loud or busy but close enough to be there with a couple minute drive.

The ocean views are great and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore made for nice relaxing afternoons.

I see that unit has had A/C installed since we left and that could be a benefit for sleeping.

Great central area and cheap price.

Wonderful stay at Magic Sands. Being this close, the waves are very loud. This can be fixed by closing the sliding doors which virtually blocks out the noise at all. We found a happy medium by slightly opening the doors. The AC unit above the bed allowed the perfect temp in the room. There was more than adequate cookware and dishware along with utensils, bottle openers, etc. We were caught off guard with the community washer and dryer. It is $1.50 for a wash and $1.00 for dry. The front desk carries quarters (only there on weekdays). She does have all necessary beach gear. I sanitized the snorkel gear and we attempted to use it with terrible leaking results. We highly recommend Miller's snorkel and surf less than 1 mile north on Ali'i. $25 for 2 for 1 week. One other name I have to plug since we had with such great food and service for CHEAP is 808 Grindz. The only thing preventing a 5 star on this rental is the ultra cold showers. There is only a 12 gallon water tank in this unit which gives you about 8 minutes of a warm shower, less than 5 if you prefer a hot shower. So shower together and shower quick. Only other nitpicking complaint would be insufficient trash bags. We cooked a lot and bought quite a few groceries so 2 small trash bags was just under what we needed for a 10 day stay. We would stay here several times over... we just hope next time has a better shower fix such as a tankless water heater. Mahalo!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review Jeremy! The condo had a smaller tank when we initially purchased it back in 2012. We have upgraded it to the largest that we can fit for the space allotted at present in the unit. The tank is not large but it does heat back up very quickly d/t this. My dad's unit #314 has the instant on water heaters but they are continually needing replacing. Maybe soon they will come up with a better replacement! Mahalo
