Beautiful home away from home
My family and I enjoyed our stay in this home. All amenities were provided and we simply had to rest and relax. Highly recommended!
Wonderful place to stay! We had 6 adults & 2 children. This was our families Christmas. What a awesome time we had. More than the pleasures & comfort of home. My grandson said this was our new home! The guys enjoyed fishing off the dock while the girls sat by the pool.
Thanks for everything!
We have visited this villa 3 times & each time we have had an amazing experience..! The villa was beautiful & clean inside & out .. the view from the pool was beautiful..we had full use of the boat which we each day we went to different beach’s and restaurants I would not hesitate booking this villa again and I have recommended it to both family and friends
Amazing Getaway - Couldn't fault it!!
From start to finish this was an amazing holiday rental. Perfectly equipped with everything we needed, lots of space, stunning setting and the boat is the cherry on the top. The pool was a wonderful temperature and there's plenty of places to sit whether you want to enjoy the sun on the decking or get some shade next to the pool. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit Cape Coral.
This is our second visit to this villa and it doesn’t disappoint!! We have been to Florida 8 times and found this gem of a villa in 2015! Both my husband and I agree this is our favourite residence!
Location is great. Use of a boat, which you are given friendly instruction. A well heated pool (which the kids loved!) Fishing off the jetty which is a must!!
We would totally give this villa 100% rating and wouldn’t venture anywhere else!!
Cape Coral. We had five week stay at this villa arriving just days after Hurricane Erma past through and to be fair considering the devastation to the area the villa was nicely presented the lania had been damaged but within two days two guys came and replaced it.
Gene the boat guy was very informative and warned us whilst using the canals to be cautious of what had been blown into them by the hurricane he even phoned us to inform us as there was no fuel for the boat at Cape Harbour and would have to go to Tarpon Point he also gave us great tips on restaurants in the area etc.
Neil the owners agent was also a very nice guy within two hours he had replaced a leaking kettle and a CD player and again was quick to answer any questions we had we had.
The villa is nicely located close to good restaurants and shops
We enjoyed the different seating areas outside and enjoyed some of the most beautiful sunrises.
Cape Coral situated on the Southwest coast of Florida, The only way to fully appreciate the cape coral area is by boat, hundreds of miles of inter-coastal waterways to explore. With every day a new adventure on the boat, even if just going for lunch. A wildlife spotters or Fisherman's paradise ! Conveniently close to Fort Myers international airport just 15 miles away. Close proximity to unspoilt white sand beaches, all access by boat a number of excellent golf courses and all the nearby family attractions, restaurants and shopping you could want. Close to Sanibel, Captiva and Pine Islands where you can watch dolphins play. Busch Gardens Theme Park is a couple of hours away for a good day out, as is a trip down the coast to Naples or an hour away to Everglade City for a thrilling ride on an air boat.
The house is on one of the 8 lakes, so the view from the lanai is across the lake facing East.
To get to the river you follow the route below. It is 2.6 nautical miles (35 to 40 minutes at the most) to Cape Harbour where there are bars and restaurants. The yellow line below shows the way from our house to Cape Harbour. At Cape Harbour there are bars and restaurants with ample room to dock the boat, so you can have lunch or dinner by boat, or just go for drinks. There are no locks, just a bridge to go under. It is all idle speed to Cape Harbour and then slow speed to the river. There’s a lovely marina with lots of big boats to look at if you go through the lock or leave the boat outside Rum Runners and walk across. From Cape Harbour, through the channel is about another mile (probably less) to the open river and then out to the gulf. If you go out of Cape Harbour and round the corner to Tarpon Point, there is another big marina with lots of bars and restaurants.
When you get out to the river you will start to see the dolphins. You will be unlucky if you don’t see them every time you go out on the boat and you may be lucky enough to see them playing in the wake of the boat like in our photos on the website. The wildlife in the area is quite spectacular. There are lots of wild birds and you will probably get to see Osprey. They like to build their nests on the channel markers. In the canal system, you may get lucky and see a manatee. If you keep an eye out for the swirls on the top of the water made by their tails, you can sometimes get lucky enough to see them.
Once you’re out in the river, you can either go out into the Gulf, or stick to the river side of Sanibel and Captiva islands. Both are beautiful places to visit and well worth taking a day to go exploring. Our favourite restaurant to visit by boat in the area is The Green Flash on Captiva It is very boat friendly and they have lots of mooring spaces for visitors by boat.
If you turn the opposite way when you come out of the river, you can visit Fort Myers Beach with it’s pier and, again lots of bars and restaurants. This is probably the most touristy place around Cape Coral and the place to go if you want a bit more to do than beach combing and wildlife spotting
