Setting promoted as quiet, country yet it sits on corner of a rather busy road. Fireplace shown had furniture against it so unusable. Cobwebs & dust throughout with 2 months notice of our arrival. Our bed had broken frame with a block to hold up corner & our daughter's had no frame, just sat on floor. There was no room to climb up to the loft because of table for lamp pushed against stairs. Paint job for remodel looked like some kids had done it, splatters on walls & drips on floor. Daughter's room had curtain on door for privacy but curtain rod broken so would fall off when used.

Location was easy to find & close to down town. Had all the essentials & a complementary bottle of wine! Enjoyed reading others remarks & suggestions of places to go & things to do. Visiting bunny in yard which we delighted interacting with. Over all stay was suitable for our purposes, a little overpriced for condition.

Owner's Response: Hi Linda: I can appreciate some of your concerns. There have been a few things that need to be handled like the bed frame and curtain rod. I will take care of that. As for the cobwebs, it was cleaned two days before you arrived. Unfortunately, it is that time of year where the webs can creep up overnight. I wish that you would have contacted me directly with your concerns as I would have made sure things were handled for you. I attempted to stop by one night to make sure all was ok and you were not home so I assumed everything was fine. I happened to be out of town for most of your stay getting married, but I would have had someone over within a few hours to take care of these issues. Next time, please let owner know of your concerns before they receive a negative review and we can both have a better experience :)

Comfortable, Quite and Restful.

  • 4 of 5

This property is in an excellent, versatile location, and proved to be perfect for two adults and two children on a short visit (3-days) to the Black Hills. Visits to Dinosaur Park and Storybook Island and Historic Downtown Rapid city were moments away. And excursions to Mt. Rushmore, 1880 Train, and Custer State Park were all under an hour's drive. The cabin was comfortable and clean and contained everything we needed.

Very nice and quaint. Loved the fenced backyard for dogs.

  • 5 of 5

Spoke with Stephanie prior and was given a code for the door. This worked great- no need to worry about a key. The place was very homey and quaint. We were able to bring our two fur-babies. They were able to roam the back yard since it was fenced and no need to have to leash them to go out.

Stephanie was available via text if we needed anything.

We really didn't utilize the kitchen or grill but great idea to have as an alternative to eating out. Plus also washer and dryer available if needed.

Being pet friendly and having the fenced yard was worth every penny to us.

Thank you Stephanie

Cool little cabin in a great location

  • 5 of 5

This compact little 1940s-era cabin is so cute and awesome my partner and I fantasized about finding one of our own. Loved all the old-school details, like original floors and doors, and appreciated the up-to-date kitchen and bathroom. We actually slept on the pull-out couch because we liked the feeling of the open living space (and being able to watch TV in bed) and found that the memory foam mattress was really comfortable, definitely the best of any pull-out sofa I've ever slept on! The dogs were content here, it was a nice place to read and write, and it was a great home base for hanging out in Rapid City and the Black Hills. Across the street is also a great loop trail through the woods that goes along the creek, perfect for running and for walking the pups. All in all, a great place to stay, and would do it again.
