Great Family Holiday House
6 adults and four kids aged from 3 months to prehistoric! We had a great time at this house. The house is well equipped to a high standard and there was plenty of room for everyone. The kids loved the garden and the pool. The summer house provided welcome shade from the heat of the day and was a good spot to read or play board games. We enjoyed many meals on the shady veranda. One of the best of the many we’ve rented over the years.
St Julien is a great place to stay with all the shops and places to eat within walking distance as well as being close to many tourist attractions. We enjoyed an evening at Le Roi Carrotte which was excellent and also had a great ‘pizza evening’ at Le Bar St Jus.
Communication with the owner was excellent.
In summary - a great place for a family holiday.
Perfect house for us
We enjoyed staying in this house very much. It was well arranged (apart from odd attic bedroom) and the garden and fenced pool were perfect. It was very good to be able to walk to the village and to the river. Thank you.
Spacious house, lovely pool and garden, great location
We had a lovely stay at Le Manse. The house was really spacious for 8 adults and two dogs with different sitting areas inside and outside and plenty of bathrooms!
The pool and garden were our favourite, lovely enclosed heated pool and spacious garden with brick bbq, gazebo and lovely eating area outside the kitchen.
The area was perfect, the village was in easy walking distance with a lovely boulangerie, butchers and local shop. There were also a number of restaurants within walking distance and lovely walks with the dogs.
So sad to leave...
We are a family of 5. Mum, dad a 15 year old boy, a 6 year old girl and a 2 year old girl.
We used to travel a lot but this was the first time since our littlest was Bourne.
We live near Brighton; we drove to Dover, caught the ferry and drove down. It was easy - surprisingly easy.
The house was magnificent, more than you could imagine for a classic French retreat.
Everything on your doorstep; buter; baker; pizzeria, bar and 'one stop shop. A short distance away you have mediaeval towns, rich in culture and history.
At 10° warmer than England too, we can't wait to go back
Fab house and location
Fab character house and location. Ideal for the 10 of us to holiday and explore the area.
Heated pool is a good size for swimming and playing games. Great house for playing sardines and being noisy.
Shops just down the road in the village for everyday supplies. Lovely friendly people. Large supermarket and fuel in Sarlat
Although mid October still really warm mid 20s and kayaked down dordogne, visited caves and castles. All close by.
If this is what you are after then this place is ideal and highly recommended.
Perfect retreat for all the family
Le Manse proved to be more than we could have hoped for when we arranged a holiday for our family aged from 11 months to 70 years. Working on, if the children are happy everyone else is, Le Manse provided treasure troves of toys, a sand pit, a swimming pool and much more. ‘Dinosaurs’ were chased in and out of the copse of trees, which together with the daily walk to buy croissants resulted in young children drifting into a heavy sleep with little coaxing. George, the owner of Le Manse is a superb communicator and ensured our holiday was a great success. Thanks George!
