A very special space on the Venice Canals, we are a block & half walk to Venice Beach, Venice Boardwalk, Venice Pier & Abbot Kinney Blvd.
This original bungalow built was 1950 & has been renovated extensively.
**Please note that there is construction next door & this is already a discounted rate. This may mean that there is construction work going on next door (during legal LA building hours). No further discounts or cancelations past regular cancelation policy listed here will be offered.**
Situated on what 'they' say is one of the most beautiful canal due to its mature trees, the house is tucked in between a large Chinese Maple & Eucalyptus, almost @ a 'T' view where the canal connects with Eastern Canal.
Other than the occasional duck fight, you will sleep peacefully at night as there is no through traffic.
French doors open out onto stone deck & the quiet canal, while a side dutch entry door adds to the open airy feeling. The apartment is the self-contained canal front unit of a duplex.
The canal front deck is a magical transformational refuge where you'll want to sip coffee, wine or simply relax.

A full kitchen with dishwasher, washer/dryer, gas stove/oven, garbage disposal & roomy fridge with ice maker, looks out onto the canals & windows open onto deck for ease in passing food or drinks.
Full stone bathroom with comfy soaking tub. Skylight gives great day light throughout.
Bedroom has a Queen bed with tufted headboard, forced A/C & Heater unit & skylight with shutter for darkness.
Full futon in bedroom becomes chaise or comfy full bed and easily clicks back into sofa for day.

We only rent this space for guest's quiet enjoyment of the canals & each other. For day guests or if you wish to have anyone stop by to visit kindly please look at the full house version, vrbo.com/633034, as we do not allow non registered guests onto the property.
Location, film shoots, parties or events are to be arranged prior to arrival with separate location/event agreement depending on crew, equipment or # of people involved. Legal action and/or fines will will be levied for any unauthorized filming or commercial shots of the property or use of the property for commercial purposes.

This place is a gem right on the canals, perfect for a venice vacation you can explore everything from here but you have your own private sanctuary. M is the perfect host, and makes you feel home away from home even more! we went here last year before our wedding in vegas, came back for our anniversary and will definitely book another stay here very soon!

A delightful and cozy place to stay!
The home was clean and comfortable. Loved having the canal in the "backyard" and enjoyed sitting in the sun on the back patio. Maria was kind and helpful. Would recommend staying there!
A Slice of Heaven
We had three marvelous weeks in the is beautiful spot on Linnie Canal. Coffee in the morning on the deck, long walks on the beach, great restaurants nearby, and the almost unreal calm beauty of the spot contributed to a unique few weeks of solitude. It's a small place, very small, but it is unique and meticulously kept by the owner who was available to answer any questions we had. We have spent a lot of time in LA over the years, including living there for 8 years, but nothing quite compares to life on the Venice Canals. Some small things might be improved -- a new mattress for the bed, some touch up painting, some less stylish but more comfortable furniture, but these are small things compared to the beauty of the flowers and vegetation, the birds, and the sunshine. This fit our needs perfectly and reminded us how breathtaking LA can be.

Secluded and Stylish on the Canal
If you are looking for a cool place to party in Venice Beach, keep looking, this is not it. What sets this area apart is the privacy and quiet in between Venice Beach and Marina Del Rey. This unit had a nice private air conditioned bedroom with good space, extremely comfortable bed. There is a full kitchen which looks out on to the quiet canal and is stocked with all the utensils you'll need. There is a washer and dryer with detergent pods provided. Very roomy bathroom with a great sized bathtub and shower head, nice soap and shampoo provided along with a hair dryer and it is mirrored on two sides allowing 2 people to get ready at the same time. A small living/sitting area with a regular sized flat screen cable TV connects the bedroom area to the kitchen, deck and canal. GREAT deck that has room to sit, lay, eat with a large sun umbrella and tray tables if needed and a locked gate allows renter to step right from deck on to the canal. Good communication throughout the rental process, the owner provides excellent instructions on everything you need to know and can be easily contacted if necessary. Use Yelp app to find local groceries. The Tesuque market has cool beverages and deserts and is within quick walking distance. They are also a good Uber point to be picked up and dropped off from, because the canal addresses and roads can be confusing. We had a rental car, but depending on what brings you to town I could easily see this is one of the rare areas of LA you could forgo the rental and just walk or Uber around. We walked to Marina Del Rey for breakfast but have done Venice Beach enough we left it alone and enjoyed the canals. If you discovered you needed a rental you could probably arrange for one at the nearby hotels over at the marina. Overall this unit is very private, the decor is stylish inside and out, perfect for one or two people, probably not for the kiddos or the party crowd. Oh, and the unit has hardwood floors and unless you want to be the noisiest thing on the canal, pack some soft house shoes!
Our Bungalow is located on what is left of the canals Mr. Abbot Kinney created when he built Venice in the early 1900s. When the city acquired Venice in 1933 the canals had fallen into disarray & all of the canals were filled in save for the 6 that remain here today. In 1990 the entire canal area was beautifully renovated and is now one of the most valuable areas in LA County. We are an easy walk to Abbot Kinney Blvd. which is becoming trendier by the day with it's fabulous restaurants & shopping. Easy walks to the beautiful Venice Pier and crazy Venice Boardwalk with all of its famous street performers, etc. Bike rentals are close by and we are 10 minutes to LAX, right off Venice Blvd. with ease to Beverly Hills, Hollywood & downtown LA. You can walk or bike most anywhere for whatever you may need~ store, bank, dry cleaners, etc.. So close to all but so far from the maddening crowds...a true sanctuary from busy L.A. after working or sightseeing. Important note for visitors not from the area: There is a big difference between places actually on the canals vs. Venice Beach, the walk streets or off Abbot Kinney Blvd. which we call 'the hood'. The canals is a small self-contained area with limited car access which creates a noise buffer & makes it more difficult for the general craziness of Venice to intrude. Hence the price difference from other Venice rentals that may be grouped together here. We have tried to alert VRBO as to the vast differences in the neighborhoods in the Venice area but their logarithm can only discern so much... The vacation renter is highly advised to run a quick safety check on the area in which they are renting. If you want to stay on the canals, check carefully that the listing is actually on one of the Canals: Eastern, Grand, Howland, Sherman, Linnie or Carroll Canals or the east side of Strongs Dr.

All VRBO fees for CC payments will be deducted from refundable security deposit upon return. (To avoid VRBO CC fees use other payment options like paypal or E payments instead.) All quotes are good for 24 hours & subject to change. Walking children are considered an occupant. 2 WEEKS + quote will incur larger sec. dep. & cleaning fee. Smoking, pets, illegal drugs, firearms are not allowed by guests or guests of guests, neither inside nor anywhere within the perimeter of the property @ any time, under any circumstances including deck and parking area or Full security deposit will be forfeited & guest will be asked need to leave immediately. Third party bookings must disclose & provide name, number & email of guest @ time of booking. Occupant will be required to sign electronic rental agreement. Any day guests must be disclosed @ time of booking, providing full name. Non-Registered guests not allowed onto the property unaccompanied. There will not be the opportunity to park or leave luggage prior to 4pm. Guest is to provide cell phone # that will be used while on property for emergency purposes & to contact owner immediately of any issues with the property and not ignore something that needs to be fixed or attempt to fix themselves. Check in is 4 p.m. Check out is 11 a.m.Owner reserves right to charge $100- fee per any portion of hour, per hour, past check out time guest remains on property. Location shoots or any events will require full disclosure at the time of booking as well as signature of location rental agreement & additional location fee. Any commercial photos taken here remain the property of the owner unless otherwise specified in location/event agreement.
