About The Owner

I am a paint contractor in Atlanta. My sister is a banker in Jacksonville, Fla. My parents bought this property in 1994 and my sister and I inherited it in 2009. We come to the mountains to relax and 'get away from it all'. Our dogs love hiking in the mountains, swimming in the lake and smelling the fresh mountain air.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 1994

A Special Family Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Three friends and I had the pleasure of staying in this cute, cozy mountain house for two nights last week. Two nights were not enough to do all of the canoeing, hiking and fishing we wanted to do!

The cabin is well furnished and comfortable. We each had a bedroom with one friend sleeping on the screened porch. The large screened porch was wonderful with a large table that seats ten. The cabin has an interesting collection of family photos and mementos from a lifetime of enjoying summers at Lake Rabun.

Don't miss hiking to Minnehaha Falls. Spectacular! A drink at the Lake Rabun Hotel would have been fun had it been open.

I would recommend this cabin to anyone seeking a relaxing getaway! Thanks to Michael and Mary Jean for sharing their home!

Great Fun... but Relaxing too

  • 5 of 5

A couple of friends and I stayed here end of May. It was such fun. We cooked in the well appointed kitchen. Slept well in the beds... I even slept on the futon on the screened porch, and was awakened each morning by the song birds! We sat on the front porch and read. We went down to the dock at night to see the stars. We even got out in the canoe and paddled around a little. We highly recommend this place as a comfortable get-away.

Vacation on Lake Rabun

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is exactly as described... cozy and comfortable. The outdoor porchs were our favorite places to visit with our friends. It is also comforting to not to have to pack up your entire kitchen just to go on vacation. All necessary tools were on hand - THANK YOU for that!

Our vacation goal was to feel at home. This cabin certainly gave us this feeling.

Great weekend

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful weekend at this quaint cabin and just like the owner Michael said, we spent the entire time enjoying the screen party porch. The kids enjoyed swimming in the lake and the pizza at Louie's was awesome. The best thing about this cabin is the attention to little details that make your stay comfortable and the ability to have your pets with you. In fact the Lake Rabun community seems to be pet friendly. We especially loved the hand made head board in one bedroom and the unique lights over the table on the porch. Thanks Michael for a wonderful visit and we hope to see you next year.

Owner's Response: Hi Terry! Thank you SO much for writing our very first review! We’re happy everyone (humans and dawgs) had such a great time, including the new baby (cabbage patch doll). We sincerely hope to see you back at the cabin next year! Thanks again, Terry! ~ Michael and Mary Jean
